MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Well its been a while since I've made it over to MW, and thought I would start a thread to see how all of the "oldtimers" that have been around the site for a while (or atleast used to be) are doin.
For me, I think since the last time I've been here I've graduated with a bachelors in mechanical engineering, got a job at a medical device manufacturing company, bought a house, bought a brand new F150, and have drastically changed my stang. Things are going very well, and hope they continue to do so. Just thought I'd see how all you guys (and gals) are doin, Tireburner, PKRWUD, Dan, MR 5.0, Dark 5.0, SRV, Topless, Crazyhorse, Unit5302, 1Bad89, oldguy, andy669, ultraflow, rev, coupe devil (formerly ponypower) and all you others from "back in the day" feel free to chime in and say hey! happy holidays everyone :) -Drew |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Old Timer checkin' in :)
Well, I graduated Highschool, went to Community College (kicked some butt there), and now go to Southern Methodist University. I am studying Studio Art and will graduate with a BFA in December of 2005. Both Stangs are pretty much the same. Oh yeah, I got a dog! He's pretty cool :) |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Well I'm still here doing about the same as always. Still interested in Stangs, street racing and cars in general. Seems like the older I get, the harder I have to work, LOL. MW is my major web hang out as it has been fr some years now.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Well im still here, Talk to Drew I guess more than anyone else. (I gotta come get that tranny dude )... Who else is still here. Good to hear from Jodi and Rev.
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I'm still around as well! Nothing new really, just keeping very busy with work and life! :)
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Well, I think I've been a moderator for Dan here on MW almost since its inception. Guess that means I'm getting old. Along that line, had to almost cry the other day when my 13-year old asked me what an LP record was. It wasn't the asking that hurt so much as my being able to answer!
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Good to hear you're still coming around here Jeff. When are ya gonna change over to pure street in NMRA and start setting records there too? :)
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Hey, Drew!
While I no longer am on the staff at MW I still check in to this forum on a regular basis. I still have my '90 LX but haven't done more than regular maintenance on it for some time, now. At almost 15 years old and 125,000 original miles, I have no desire to break things on a car that has been very good to me. I drive it much less than I used to but whenever I do get behind the wheel and grab the Pro 5.0 shifter, I enjoy it as much as ever. I remain a political conservative and I still debate politics on the web, but on a different site. With Bush's re-election and the expanding Republican majority in congress, life is good - politically. :) Everything else in my life is fairly static and no major life changes have taken place, although some of my interests have shifted a bit, but that's normal. I have few complaints and much to be thankful for...and I am. Let me take this opportunity to not only say hi, but to wish you and every MW member a very Merry Christmas (I still call the day by it's rightful name) and of course, a great New Year. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I'm still around. I get on the board as much as possible but with a year in korea and another in Iraq and one more year in Iraq coming up, I lost a few years of posting. Although my last tour in Iraq I did manage to visit the board once or twice. But life is good, gonna finish the stang over christmas,or finish one project I guess. Then I'll pick up on things again when I get home in '06.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I still come around but usually just to Windsor power.
Glad to hear that things are going well for you. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Holy Crap Drew! I cant believe you mentioned my name in an old timers thread. Those other studs you mentioned have been around alot longer than I have.
But since I am here, thanks for asking, and like MR. 5 0 said, Merry Christmas to everybody! Andy |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
another 1999 here

I must give credit to Mr 5.0 (we all know him as Jim ;) ) for keeping my interest piqued in both Mustangs and the mysticism surrounding the name, not to mention moral backing on the political issues that have come up over the past years. I second his enthusiasm for our current (and even the upcoming) political atmosphere. I'm sitting happy and content as one relieved and thankful American. I thank God each day that my family and I are blessed to live in the greatest country on Earth EVER. Merry Christmas to everyone on the MW 'boards, and I wish you all a happy new year. p.s. PARTY AT DAN'S HOUSE!!!!!!!! :p |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Ive been coming here occasionally but not all that often. Im a semi old timer i guess :D
Anyways I just completed my transfer credits at a community college and next semester im transferring up to northern california to go to Sonoma State University, persuing a BA in Economics with a minor is Business Admin. My car is drastically different and i just made a new thread with pictures! |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Hey Drew, long time, no see! I don't make it by anywhere near as often as I used to, but I try to help out in Windsor and Classics when I can; usually once or twice a month. I still spend most of my time online trying to continually improve the Rice Haters site.
On a personal note, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, or more specifically, dilated cardiomyopathy, a little over a year ago, and have been trying to take it easy ever since. It's meant a lot of changes in my life, but I try to not let it get in the way of things. Fortunately, it was caused by a viral infection, which means it's possible for my heart to regain some of its ability to pump. I'm still in need of a transplant, though, so if you know any young, healthy friends that like to do stupid, dangerous stunts, introduce me. :) |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I guess I am an old timer too. :)
I have just graduated college with marketing and engineering degrees and will start work for an firm here in KC right after the new year. Major changes to the car......I sold it :(. I now drive a Contour SVT and it sucks, but I used the money I saved on the Stang to buy a condo, which is nice. Once I get caught up on bills for this new place, a new hot rod will find a home here :). Everything else is great too. I have been very lucky the way everything has fallen in place for me. Merry Christmas to everyone! |

Another old timer ... I guess, just not active in the Lounge that much.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I'm here, I haven't been on MW in a while either.
I'm pretty much the same ole same. I'm about to finish up college here pretty soon with my degree in Computer Networking. I'm still broke as ever:D I've got the ole notch runnign some pretty good times IMHO. I ran a 12.1 @112 at Corral day 2004, I've since then added long-tubes, shortie H-pipe, Mac Flow-Path cat-back, a explorer intake, a 65mm tb, and a 73mm MAF, as well as a set of X2C control arms. So I think I should be in the 11.70 or so range now. Come March-April the new motor is going in and I'm shooing for some low low 11's or maybe even a high 10 or two before the stock T-5 lets loose. -Josh, aka the tireburner |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
great times Josh! are you finishing up an associates degree? and you still owe me 76 bucks biatch!
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Still around as well but not much on Mustangworks anymore. Occassionally I visit. I've even had a name change since I first joined the board (previously 96GTS). I've been more in the Lightning scene as of late. It's still good to come back here and visit every once in a while.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Holy crap! its been a long time since I graced these hallowed halls..long time. :o
went to college for a while, got bored. went to work, bout to go back to school in January..study graphic design/ auto bodywork. hooked up w/ a good group of stangers here in Alabama an have been a prety big regular w/ them. went to FFW in atlanta last yr, and we went up to Deal's Gap in NC to tackle the Tail of the Dragon..lots of stuff.. but i'll always remember this place.. i can't beleive i still remembered my password..:D oh yea...the car. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
been around awhile I suppose... I got the t-shirt and remember the dude standing on the piston with the wrench...
still have my stang too..even though I crossed into the rice. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Quote:
Piston Pete was the dude on the wrench, right? And how have you crossed into the rice?? Please tell me there is no neon on you Stang :) |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
It's been a while, but I come back and visit when I get a chance. I finished my grad work about 6 months ago, and I'm a physical therapist working mostly with adult neuro and pediatrics here in Lubbock, TX. That keeps me busy most of the time.
The Mustang is parked for now needing a little bit of work. I need to get the torque converter rebuilt, install a new drive shaft, and I'd like to pull the motor and but a stroker rotating assembly in. However, as I'm trying my hardest to get my finances straight for the future and get out of debt, it's gonna be several years before I can get to it. Can you believe I actually though of selling the thing today?!?! Anyway, my daily driver's a 2004 Infiniti G35 6MT sedan. Slick little ride all around. No plans to modify it beyond an intake tube. Good to see some old names on here. A good number of you have helped me through various projects and questions since I started frequenting the site shortly after it was formed. I joined up later on, and learned about 75% of what I know about Mustangs from researching on this site. God bless all of you, and Merry Christmas. --nathan |

I don't blame you there. I miss the brute power of my old fox body, but it is nice not to have all the shakes and rattles to deal with anymore :). |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I still pop in from time to time, but, I lurk more than I post. This is where I learned most of what I know about my stang, and for that I am greatful for this site. Thanks to all those who used to answer all of my questions. I have parked and dis-assembled the 90 GT, in hopes of re-building it but ran out of money, I traded my 93 F-150 for an 01 GT, and traded it 8 months later for an 04 F-150 heritage, that I want to get rid of for the new body style, but am too far upside down and my credit is trashed. Other than that, I still just try to enjoy life. I havent seen alot of these names in this thread in a long time.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I'm not here as much as I used to be but still check in from time to time.
This site seems to have slowed down lately for some reason. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Still here. I haven't visited much in a long while until today when I saw this thread.
My little N/A 331 is running well, however she's under cover in my garage until Spring. It's good to see all the old timers. Take care everyone, E |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
i have started to hag around a lot more also. Been a member since '99. I now drive an '03 GT M5, which is a fun ride, and my best stang to date. Since i was on here last i have owned a heads/cam LS1, which was a blast to drive. Now I am back to the stangs! I hope that people start to post mroe often.
I have also finished a graduate degree, and bought a condo on the water here in south florida. Maybe moving over to the country of TX though :) |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
dude im in TX. southeast texas to be more exact. move here and we can dominate some of the local rednecks, it would be nice to know there are other true car enthusiasts out there and not just more tractor pull competetion watchin rednecks. my god, i dont know what id do if i met someone else who wasnt a redneck!

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I still lurk around MW every once in a while...I've found that as the years pass, I have less and less time to surf the net because it's getting sucked up by the "daily grind" aka work. I still have my car and I may actually drive it next year but who knows.
It's nice to see some of the "old timers" peek back in and say 'Hi'. Take care everyone. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I myself am just beginning my MW career whereas my car experience has been going on for a great deal of time now.
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!

|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I owned a 69 Cougar Vert for a day, got it home and my wife (newlywed) raised hell cause i spent that much money when I already had a project Mustang and I took it back. Every time I see one ( not very often now) I say, yeah, I had one of those once.

Still stop by every now and then. Got my bachelor of science majoring in Geology. I work for Northgate minerals doing exploration. I get to ride around in helicopters and go trekking through some of the best scenery in the world. I spend as much time away from home as I do at it though.
Still got the same car and now that I'm making good money, it's getting faster by the day. By the time spring driving season comes around, I'll have my 393, my cobra brakes, a tremec TKO600, and an upgraded 8.8. |
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I lurk around MW every once in awhile but don't post very often any more. It's good to see the site is still doing well and to see a bunch of the old members around. :)
|
Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!

Just been workin my butt off. Getting ready to make a move to TX in another 6 months or so. Nice to see this place is still going strong. Take care Rod |

Bought the Cougar in Orlando, FL. Maitland to be exact. One owner car. White, Saddle interior, 302, C-4, A/C.
I just had it painted, paint was in bad shape and it had mucho door shots/dings all over it. The car has ZERO rust. Orignal FL car. Did dual exhaust with flowmasters, Cragers and new rubber. It had been sitting for quite a few years. I got it running and replaced all the hoses, etc. Just bought a new interior yesterday a NPD. Seats, carpet, sun visors, etc. Not a bad car. The sequential turnsignals work and so do the headlamp doors. I do have one door, left side, that is a little slow and sticky. But, I'm working on that. Rides just like my 68 FB that I recently sold....just alot slower. |
