Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I owned a 69 Cougar Vert for a day, got it home and my wife (newlywed) raised hell cause i spent that much money when I already had a project Mustang and I took it back. Every time I see one ( not very often now) I say, yeah, I had one of those once.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Still stop by every now and then. Got my bachelor of science majoring in Geology. I work for Northgate minerals doing exploration. I get to ride around in helicopters and go trekking through some of the best scenery in the world. I spend as much time away from home as I do at it though.
Still got the same car and now that I'm making good money, it's getting faster by the day. By the time spring driving season comes around, I'll have my 393, my cobra brakes, a tremec TKO600, and an upgraded 8.8.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I lurk around MW every once in awhile but don't post very often any more. It's good to see the site is still doing well and to see a bunch of the old members around.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Bought the Cougar in Orlando, FL. Maitland to be exact. One owner car. White, Saddle interior, 302, C-4, A/C.
I just had it painted, paint was in bad shape and it had mucho door shots/dings all over it. The car has ZERO rust. Orignal FL car. Did dual exhaust with flowmasters, Cragers and new rubber. It had been sitting for quite a few years. I got it running and replaced all the hoses, etc. Just bought a new interior yesterday a NPD. Seats, carpet, sun visors, etc. Not a bad car. The sequential turnsignals work and so do the headlamp doors. I do have one door, left side, that is a little slow and sticky. But, I'm working on that. Rides just like my 68 FB that I recently sold....just alot slower.

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Am I too late to chime in? My original name (Xgmguy) was registered by me before my latest 1999 registration! I could not remember my password or the email address I registered it to.
My silver car was stolen, now I own an '89 coupe. It was stock with bolt-ons when I bought it and now it has a built 306 with an intercooled Procharger, Tremec, etc...

Thanks for thinking of me..... I know its been a long long time. I accidently clicked on MW now, and I'm glad I did. I have not even been on RHC for a while either till tonight, much less any other sites. That is good for me. I've been very happy in a relationship that has kept me off the internet. Its been real stressful at times, LONG story, but, I think in the end it will be okay. This is one of those RARE nights that I am checking the boards, up WAY past my bedtime!!!! (LOL! ya'll are used to seeing me up all night, I TRY to get to bed by 10 pm now, If I am not alone! ) Obvioulsly, I am in one of those modes now, where I will function on a few hours sleep. I have not done this in MONTHS!!!!! I hope I will make it okay tomorrow.... I have learned to appreciate the 'dark side' (Corvettes) and have actually loved the feeling of not waking up hungover every day. Its a good feeling. I quit the liquor store on New Years, I guess one is never too old to grow up, and appreciate the good things in life. I just wanted to check in, and say hey, and let ya'll know that I am still alive.... although, in a Regatta this weekend, I got the Jib Sheet wrapped around my neck (sailing) that has been my major excitement this weekend. It was pretty scary, I did not lose my head, but it was close, and scared the crap out of me.. But, I am okay. Been doing alot of Racing (sailing). Heres a few pics. Glad to see your doing well.... Marty.... I miss you. Shoot me an email and let me know what is going on with you. We need to catch up..Rick too.... Hows married life? Good to see you guys... I wish the best for ya'll. I do miss ya'll, and I think about all of ya'll often... TNT

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
It's kind of funny looking at this thread and seeing all of the names that I remember. I've been busy also but hope to visit more often now that I'm finished school. Still have my mustang and now my wife has one too. LOL!
Take Care, James

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
I guess you could consider me an old timer. But I only pop in during a blue moon and rarely post much.
When I joined MW I was seperated from my wife and living in Colorado. Then we got back together and I moved back to Las Vegas. Now we are almost done with our divorce and I'll be on my way back to Colorado again. Hell, I gave it a try... |

Re: MW oldtimers reunion thread!
Better late than never!! It certainly has been a while since I've posted here. Been popping in and out of this place since '98... so, yeah, I qualify as an 'old-timer' for the first time in my 26 yrs. of existence.
Not too much is terribly news worthy here... currently building a '79 for a guy. Just got started on the real challenge of the project -- wiring! Redoing everything from head-to-tail with a Painless 12 circuit race car harness and switch panel. Going to be a street car built for straight-line action.... looking for low 10's --> some pics/info: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/404235/3 Other than that, my '93 is covered up for the moment... haven't touched it in a few months... need to get back on that soon. And I've been having a blast w/ my '03 Mach 1 that I was going to leave stock (yeah, right!). I took the week off to get some stuff taken care of and here I am visiting all the sites I used to... playing catch-up, if you will, on what's been posted/discussed. Later, -Ryan |
