No offense to you Dark_5.0, but stock for stock an 01 Cobra (even though very close) can not beat the same year LS1. The 01 and up models did have different internals in the engine and tranny, as well as reworked exhaust, so they make more power.
Perhaps you can take out a 98-00, but with all things equal it will be neck and neck.
On the other hand , a stock 03 Cobra will kill any F-Body or LS1 (Corvette included) for that matter. No question. The ZO6 is slightly faster in the 1/4 (about .3 / 2-3mph), but is not as easily modded nor does it have the aftermarket to support it.

i wasnt bashing f- bodies, sandman , i respect & like jimi's t/a as much as my stang, he just put a ram air hood on it, and getting it painted, it was black, he's painting it orange, we go rice hunting sometimes, i really like his t/a, dont tell anyone, lol.
