Talking My car sets the standard for "Speed" at my school :)

Now i don't have the fastest but for some reason guys with other sports cars and one with an old school muscle car (350 Nova) always compare their car the "Red 5.0 that parks next the football field". Apparently no one knows that i'm the one driving it because i was right in front of them walking in the hallway and they didn't say anything to me. i heard them sayin' yeah i bet i could beat that piece of sh*t. I didn't say anything just went to class. But i raced some kid with a 65 Mustang a couple of days ago that goes here too. Guess he thought he could beat me.

Hmmmm..........No offense intended but if a bolt on 5.0 sets the standard the local competition must be pretty weak.

Surely someone there drives a 99+ stang or an LS-1

Your lucky when I was in high school I drove a 86 2.2L dodge charger. My car set the standard for slow

My car sets my standard at my school for daily drivers. Best competition is a 99 GT Vert. I've raced him and edged him out for bragging rights, even though I don't brag. One other guy has a 69 Cutlass with a 455, but that's a weekend car. Other than that, my car is the fastest that is actually running, I know of quite of few guys, including myself, who are building up something big though. and no, there are NO LS1 ~Brian

I remember those high school days. I had a 91 GT that was AOD and my buddy had a 93 GT T-5. We were at the top of the class as far as speed goes. My car ran 14.7 and the 93 GT ran 14.3's. At the time, everyone was more concerned with "dubs" rather than horsepower. That's high school for ya

This was about 4 years ago.

I never had the fastest car in HS... maybe it was because I had an 89 LX 2.3L

But for some reason a lot of ppl talk about my current stang at my bro's HS. I think my bro's friends talk about my car to everyone..

the fastest car at my school was either an 02 SS (lid, cat back) and my friends 68 Chevelle. The SS was owned by a rich kid of course. the guy with the Chevelle is cool though.

The chevelle and the SS were sopposed to race like all throughout senior year. Of course the SS driver always had to chicken out (damn rich bastards) The chevelle ran 13.4's throughout high school and now hes in the 12's.

Its funny how rumors spread when they arent true in high school. I found out at a night the school holds for last years graduates to come back and talk about college that there were rumors that i was talking how i could beat him. Funny thing is we were friends through the lacrosse team and i always knew i couldnt beat him and always told him that.

Stupid High school BS hehe

Later,
The competition isn't weak, you forget what i said in the orginal post about "I know i don't have the fastest car"?. Yes your correct, someone drives '99 Z28 that could absolutely kick my a*s but apparently everyone compares their car to mine, that's what i'm saying. If you thought i was bragging then my bad, didn't mean to sound like that. No i was just saying how i've heard people talk crap about my car ya know?

In high school my Mach 1 was known as the second fastest... only to a rich *** kids Eagle Talon, but it became not street legal. I believe it was pushing low 11's. This kids winter beater was an Audi A6 and when that was in the shop having about $4000 put into a sound system he was driving a Escalade. His dad was a head manager for the Royal Bank, he apparently owned a Aston Martin too. Although apparently there is a kid who goes to my old high school that drives a 5.0L now. Don't know who he is, or what's done to it though.

I had the 4th fastest car at my high school, 3rd fastest with the nitrous. There was a rich kid with a 95 cobra, and he had a bunch of bolt ons and an s-trim, he blew that, and put in a 347. Another kid had a 91 coupe with a carbed 306, and a 150 shot. ONe of my good friends has a 93gt with all the stuff I have on my car now. I got the stuff from him after he wrecked his car.

I had THE SLOWEST car at my high school, '82 VW pickup with a 1.6L 4cyl diesel (52 hp) and a low geared 4 spd transaxle. Top speed was 65mph and it took three weeks to get there!

One of my friends by far had the fastest car, an '87 Buick Grand National with a significantly built engine. THat car was fun

The school itself owned a stock '87 GN and a '71 Buick Gran Sport.

When I was in H.S. I didn't have much competition, the closest I had was a 70's chevell with a 350, 92 supra, and a 87 GT with AOD....

ahh the days before the 99 stang..
