Found a 351 - Now what?
I found an older 351 block. I'm not sure what year it is yet, but hopfully when I go look at it the guy can tell me this info. He has a set of heads also but I was wondering if I should go ahead and use my ported E7 heads which have been shaved .030 and have a 3 angle valve job with Crane springs setup for my F cam. Or, should I get those heads and put my springs on them and shave them a little to make sure they're flat and have a valve job done on them?
Also, is the F303 cam a good cam for a 351? I plan to go with Twisted Wedge heads (later on) and Trick Flow intake and use my 65mm TB and 76mm C&L meter along with the 24lb injectors for now. Thanks. ------------------ Gunning for 12's! Buy your parts here ICQ# 42269241 |

i may be interested in your 302 shortblock when you do the swap, mine is using more oil than it used to and i think its just a little worn out, does yours use much oil? hows the oil pressure? if anything i could just leave mine in and build that one up really nicely and not be without a car for more than a day or two, just let me know

Drew, my short block is IMO in great condition. It uses no oil, burns no oil, and has good oil pressure (but since you'll have it out might as well throw in a new pump). I am guessing it has been rebuilt before I got the car because I can't believe an engine with 125,000 miles on it could still have the crosshatching in the cylinders as visible as these were. We'll talk when I get the 351 ready to drop in and maybe I'll see if we can do this over at Tim's house to save you a trip down to get it.
