My g/f has a 71 Mach I - and I didn't even know it!

OK I was invited to my girlfriend's grandparents house for dinner. I was like ok. Then she said "Hey while we're there maybe we can ride down to Uncle James' house and look at my car."

So I was like "what car."

"My mustang, uncle James is redoing it for me"

"what year model is it?"

"I'm not sure but its old"

So we get to her grandparent's house and eat dinner. After that we go down to her uncle's house and there in his shop is a 1973 Mach 1. Not only is it a Mach 1 he swaped in a 429 with police interceptor heads and a lot of other stuff. The thing has 4.56:eek: gears in it!!! You wanna talk about commin off the line!!!!! I was totaly blown away. I've been going out with her for over a year and I'm just now finding out about this. What if she has a 66 GTO in her attic:D

The sad thing is he was going to restore it and let her have it when she turned 16, but now because he pulled out the 302 and put in the 429 she can't have it till she turns 21 (that sucks I wanted to drive it:D )

1BAD89 11-28-2001 12:15 AM

That's bad ***, I think you need to test drive it for her! What do you think?:D

6T9PONY 11-28-2001 12:22 AM

Why doesn't she get it until she's 21 now? That's a crock....

Buy say...man.....I'll take that thing of her uncle's hands if he'd like for the 5 extra years.....of course, only if you don't mind....hehe:p :D

RAGE_5.0 11-28-2001 07:20 AM

she is definetly a keeper
make sure she doesn't wreck it when she does get it though cause that would be a shame

1969Mach1 11-28-2001 07:34 AM

Woh' man that is amazing. =) I don't see why 5 years to do that engine swap. None the less wait it out man. =)
That is one sweet deal you came across.

Take it Easy Man,
and Enjoy

tireburner163 11-28-2001 08:06 AM

He won't let her have it now because it has too much power and he dosn't want her the crash it. Thats why she can't have it till she's 21.

6t9 pony not a snowballs chance in H-E-double toothpicks.:D

I'm sure she is, but does it matter? Hell, I'll marry her uncle if he lets me drive the car.:D My ex-uncle-in-laws old boss (confussed myself on that one:confused: ) has a '70 Boss 302, sitting in a shed. Whats he doing with it? Nothing. Come to think of it, I should just marry him...

tireburner163 11-28-2001 02:37 PM

She is a very kind and loving individual. You guys can't have her:D

Now that she walked out of the room. YES!!!! she is hot.:D :D :D

Ah hell...I need to go out and drive, but there's snow all over the ground and I cant....and so I sit at the computer and ramble...play solitaire over and over and over and over and over....AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

:D hehehe just kidding with ya bud. Wish my girl was into cars, but I'm slowly teaching her. She has some funny questions, she asked the other night "How can you tell a car just by looking at it's back lights?" my friends and I had a good chuckle, lol :D Can't live with them, and can't live without them. lol

Take it Easy Guys,

dani-
Hehehe, I meant I heard wedding bells for tireburner, NOT ME!!! I don't believe in marriage. I've seen way too many great relationships get destroyed by it.

We have an "8" track set-up two or three times each season, but I've never driven in it. My balls aren't that big.

Take care,
-Chris

tireburner163 11-28-2001 07:54 PM

6T9 pony what do you have a death wish or something.

j/k:D (or am I???)

69fastback 11-28-2001 10:14 PM

Hey sounds like a good race for me. I hope u get a good job man a big block with 456 gears ouch! Can u say 4 mpg. My big block and 430s really do a job of emptying the wallet. Keep that girl around.

tireburner163 11-28-2001 10:27 PM

He put the 4.56 gears in because he had the rear-end laying around. He's gonna go with 3.55's later. Right now with the 4.56's all you get is tire smoke.

6T9PONY 11-29-2001 01:05 AM

1969Mach1, I know what you mean about the girlfriend talking about how you can tell what car it is and all that crap....

I have improved her car vocabulary though. She now knows what an air cleaner is, the difference between tread/traction, the difference between wheels/tires, uhh....dang...I'm not a very good teacher.....:(

She's getting better though.

1969Mach1 11-29-2001 07:35 AM

lol yeh, my friends and I teach her as we're driving. We taught her difference between automatic and standard, rpm, I even showed her a fish tail. (Bad Idea!) lol She doesn't like it when I drive fast and doing a fish tail without warning only results into alot of angryness. lol =) hehehe.... I was in a van might I add. lol It was my best one yet too. lol =) It was very cool, but ya gotta teach them as you go along. She told me she didn't like my car cause the "thing on my hood" (My hood scoop) I'm like ouch, hehehe she is like it's ugly. lol She is like I like your dads car (1973 Corvette) hehehe.... I guess she won't like it if I add a Shaker hood scoop. lol =)
