Name this PCI card... We think it's an SCSI card.
I bought a box of computer stuff at an auction and it had 5 of the cards pictured below in the box. My brother says they are external SCSI cards. The card appears to have been made by a company called NCR and I found some info on them...
NCR Microelectronics was bought by Hyundai a while back, and is now called Symbios Logic; its Web site is at http://www.symbios.com ??? At the top of the card it reads: SCHM 497-0407424 ASSY PCI-LCD The main chip on the card reads: Chips F65550 A1-ES GVS60030 9638-G Korea NU29330 Thanks. ------------------ Gunning for 12's! The only hookup on the card is external. Nothing on the inside to plug a drive into. I'm not really sure what the PS2 port is for. That's why I was asking
I do know a keyboard or a mouse won't plug into it. ------------------ Gunning for 12's! Buy your parts here ICQ# 42269241 |

Might be a stretch but the older midi plugs used both of those connections. However, I've never seen them plugged into a soundcard like that before.

That card, my friend, is a video card. The round connector is s-video. I think the long connector controls a flat panel display.
Here is a URL that will tell you more about what you have. Asiliant ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible |

This looks like a scsi card at first but the extra power is a give away that something else is going on. The F65550 chip is a video chip. This board is for a flat panel lcd display screen. The connector that looks like a scsi is actually a 40-pin data connector. Scsi connectors are 25,50,68,80 pin and so on.
Many of these boards just use a serial connector instead of the ps/2 connector. These boards are basically for industrial use. There is no graphics accelerator and usually only a couple of megs of ram. Max colors typically about 64k. These are used on plc systems and touch screen setups. Very little home pc use for them. Here is a link to a card very similar to yours: http://www.aristaipc.com/lcd_display...266b_lvds.html Hope this helps. Mike P.S. dang I was researching and checking different sites and jimberg snuck in there. sorry about the repetition. ------------------ Live near St.Louis? That is a SCSI 2 card. It is used to connect external SCSI devices. I am a computer analyst and I know that SCSI is a pain in the butt to get working sometimes. IDE is easier but SCSI is faster, so you have to decide how you want to go.

Cyberstang, moosejaw and I weren't guessing. It's kind of weird that we figured it out at the same time. We identified the chip as being a flat-panel screen controller from CHiPS and Technologies. It's not a SCSI controller. Check out the links we included in our messages.

Oh yeah Jim?!? Well I say it's an PCI card for running your cars ECM into your PC. It lets you turn your PC into the ultimate ECM reprogrammer. The round plug is for your CB handset.
That does it. I gotta stop working nights. Take care ~Chris ------------------ Retired Moderator MustangNet My site: JimPorterRacing RACECAR spelled backwards is RACECAR HEY !!!
