Another ticking/Clicking sound
I too have that darn ticking/clicking sound coming from my engine bay. It only happens after a long trip, or when I drive the car hard. And its very noticeable from inside the car and outside. It more of a tapping sound, but its hard to tell. I sounds like its coming from the passanger side of the engine. Anyone experiance this type of sound before?

'ticking' noises could be many things, but i've had bad plug wires arcing, exhaust leaks, and valve trains give a 'ticking' noise.

No other symptoms that I notice. Only ticks/clicks when driven hard or on long trips.
About a month ago the car stalled twice with the ac turned on when coming to a stop on neutral. No codes from computer never happen again. Thanks. |

I just had this same problem, but it turned out to be a smog pump about to lock up, i bypassed the the pump and it is cool, now my p/s pump is going bad but i noticed by putting a long screwdriver to the parts and listening where it is (be careful while motor is running)

After a "long trip", your oil is at it's thinnest. Sounds like normal valvetrain wear to me. Try a thicker oil.

PKRWUD you make a good point. I use 10-40 castrol oil. I'll try 15-40 or 20-50.
Thanks |
