Good to hear from you Christine! My bet is that you've just had other irons in the fire as opposed to topless. There's nothing there that time and money won't cure, LOL. All that cosmetic stuff can be replaced. If only interpersonal relationships could be repaired as easily. Again, nice to hear from you.

Re: My Topless Now.....

Hi Christine:

Wow...it looks as if 'Topless' (the CAR, not you) hasn't aged too well. Too bad.

However, I can't judge you too harshly because my daily-driver 1990 LX 5.0 is a little tired-looking from sitting out unprotected in northeastern summers and winters for 15 years too, but it's still basically intact, has never been hit and just needs some minor bodywork and fresh paint to bring it back to near-new condition.

Your Mustang looks worse - but only because it was once so pristine that the comparison (then to now) is startling. It could be 'brought back' if you wanted to and invested the money necessary to restore it to it's former glory. We all have our priorities and for you, the 'Stang is obviously not on top of your list - but don't feel bad, my Mustang hasn't been near the top of my personal priority list for some time now, although I still appreciate it.

That's why I'm selling it when the warm weather breaks here in a few more months. It's still nice enough (with 125,000 original-owner, well-maintained miles) to fetch a good price but if I hang on to it much longer the cost to make it sharp again would equal whatever I might get for the car at sale. You are sort of in the same situation but your 'Stang is so nice 'underneath' the deterioration that it would probably 'come back' easily and be worth a lot more, should you go that route.

In any case, nice to hear from you again, here.

Stay well, girl.

Jim

Re: My Topless Now.....

Mine would be nicer if I would spend the money on appearances instead of more speed parts, LOL. I don't even have the heater installed, much less the air conditioner. Still have the original 8 track in there too that doesn't even work (as if there were still 8 track cartridges around).

Just ordered a new cam and intake as well as new RR's and gasket set to the tune of $777 from Summit. I know I'll never get the money back, but if I get close to 12's it'll be worth it to me.

Priorities, priorities, where will it all end? Doesn't really matter, I'll never sell mine anyway. I just want it to surprise LS1 Camaros and late model Stangs while I still have it for my own personal use. Eventually Vipers, who knows?

christine ....how ya been stranger

........i can definatly relate ,mine hasn't had much cosmetic work in years ,so in the looks department it's seen better days .......mine serves as a daily driver so i know how hard it is to keep em nice under normal day to day driving ........

:( Poor Topless!

You and me should get together! Beauty is getting her "we made it through college" make-over next December! :) Wonder if we could get a group discount at the paint shop? :p

Hey ya'll.
lol. Good to hear from ya'll. Ya, shes hurting. My odometer is out and now stuck on 132,780. I know it looks really bad. And, the pics arent lying. But, we had some good times. STILL working on getting Caitlin to submit me to Overhaulin'.
Maybe one day i will be able to whip it back into shape. But, for now, just as long as it runs, i'll be happy. If I could only figure out why those 2 lights keep coming on on my instrument panel???
good to see ya'll.

(thanks James!) :D

The worst thing I see is your driver seat, those can be redone or replaced. I got newer seats from my son's 98 GT just before we traded it, it took just a few minutes to swap them, and I bought new floor mats and my interior looks new again. Don't give up, at least it's still a Mustang Convertible!
