Exclamation ***SHOW*** YOUR SUPPORT & PATRIOTISM!!!!!

Hello Americans (and Canadians). Today I was truly inspired, and surprised that something overcame the incessant rage and sadness that has clouded my head for the past day. What was I inspired by? The stories I have heard over the radio (Detroit 97.1 has been AWESOME!) and the scenes over the television of the ongoing efforts to save those still under the mess. Stories of amazing heroism by people who showed no regard for themselves to try and save others. Stories like one of an elderly woman in her mid-90's, who was barely able to walk, put up her American flag on her porch, just to show that she was proud to be an American. Like the little kids I saw today putting up little flags on a small hilltop by the roadside. I also saw HUGE lines of people outside of the Red Cross blood centers, in fact since right after the attack Tuesday. I love my country, would defend Her at any cost, and those are the Americans I wish to salute.

How do I show my support for what they did, and stand up for our country now? Well, I got kinda artsy-craftsy today (NOT me in any normal situation, but I'm flexible. ), bought red, white, and blue glass chalk, and drew an American flag on my rear window glass on my Notchback. Believe it or not, the lines for the defroster worked perfectly for a stencil, and it turned out great. I kept listening to the radio broadcasts through the day, and eventually, on my way to college, Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" came on!!! I almost went deaf I cranked it up so loud. I got goosebumps. I hadn't felt that good inside in a LONG time.

Don't anybody knock me off my horse here, I'm just as pissed (if not more) as the next guy. But instead of sitting on my hands being mad as hell and not doing anything positive, I want to be a part of a larger good. "Good vs. evil", just as GW put it. I want to be the former.

All I ask is that each and every American show that we're still here, we're not afraid, and that we ain't gonna take it anymore. Do whatever you feel appropriate. Put on red, white, and blue. Raise your flag (or buy one). Somehow, show everybody else how proud you are to be an American.

I'm with you big time man. Just show those ragheads that we ARE the biggest, we ARE the badest, and no matter what you do you cant't stop the wheels of freedom. If you try to hurt us we just get back up, stronger than ever.

As a Canadian I can not take the same pride in the strength of the US. I am proud that Canada appears to be backing the US 100%. From what I know, ALL flights in Canada, even the arctic, have been canceled in support of the US!.

I can say that watching the American people pull together in such times is inspiring and shows me the greatness of My southern neighbor.

As a Canadian citizen living in the USA, these acts only makes me more proud of my new home and feel even more comfortable here.

I find it to be very uplifting to see the people of this great country all joining together to stand up to these cowards. You don't see the people arguing over what to do when it comes to finding who did this to us and making them pay. This was an attack on everyone in the democratic free world and we have all joined together to stomp out terrorism for good. I was just thinking today of painting a flag on my back glass as well to show my patriotism and support for our leaders in whatever they decide to do (as long as it's painful to the bastards who did this). Go AMERICA!!!!!!!!!

It's been a while since I have posted here, but I feel I must. I feel discusted by the person/group responsible for this act. I hope America level the ground they live on.

Even if I am Canadian, and I am total not violent, I would totally see myself go to battle to exterminate these a$$holes!!!

People that don't have any respect for human live do not deserve to live. Religion is often at the base of these problems and a religion that has no regard for human life does not deserve to live in the 21rst century.

I hope America finds these SOB and put a nuke right up their a$$, cuz they deserve it.

I don't know if you guys have received this e-mail yet, nor am I one who forwards this stuff normally, but I think it is one worth forwarding.

Quote:
TRIBUTE TO THE UNITED STATES

This, from a Canadian newspaper, it's worth sharing. Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television Commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:

America: The Good Neighbor.

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts.

None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, war mongering Americans.

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10?

If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon - not once, but several times - and safely home again.

You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.

I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."

Stand proud, America! Wear it proudly!!

This is one of the best editorials that I have ever read regarding the United States. It is nice that one man realizes it. I only wish that the rest of the world would realize it. We are always blamed for everything, and never even get a thank you for the things we do.

As a Canadian, I can truly say that I'm proud of our neighbours to the south.

I can only hope that we can help out in more tangible ways than only offering some kind words...

This terrorist act hurt America the most, but it affected us all...

It's good to feel the support and brotherhood of you all that have expressed it here and in other forums.

As soon as I get the electrical problem (and starter) fixed on my car (hopefully by tomorrow), I'm getting some shoe polish and drawing an American flag on the back of my window, one that covers the entire window.

I read that editorial also and it was great. It is great to see everyone pulling together in a time like this and makes me very proud to be a part of this nation!
