need help with my VW winter beater....
 
i need to replace my left CV shaft on my 90 jetta with an auto trans.

the parts store says there are a 90mm and a 100mm and they done know which one i need.

can you guys help me?

you have on my mustang before so i thought you could for me again.

...sorry, all i can recommend is to take it out and to take it down to the parts store for them to look at it.....or.....
You can have them order both and send the one you don't need back, that would also be easier if you've already taken out the CV shaft.

Hey avbcon12,
It is a 90mm in most models, it was only in a couple limited edition Jettas from that year that got the 100mm. I used to work in a German car shop so I am pretty much positive that will be the size you want but 84LX's suggestion works too.

you said that the 100mm were in some limited edition jettas for that year. this jetta has a "limited edition" stamp on the rear deck lid.

does this mean i have one with 100mm shaft?
if it helps this car is an automatic, and i know those are rare.

Yeah Adam if it is a LTD edition auto it will have the 100mm in it.
