Funny Weld story
Hehe I feel so dumb as I write this, but I think its funny as I look back on it...(doesn't it always)
When I still had my 86 notch, it had bad bearings and a bad T5, and almost ZERO oil pressure, but stupid me decided to drive it because my 94 was being worked on. I just put new Draglites on and felt SOOO COOOL. So, I'm going down the highway around 60 mph, and I feel the car start to shimmy and vibrate. I'm thinking OMG the motor is about to seize, so I start to pull over to the side of the road and BAM! the car falls the ground as the passenger side skinny literally flies off the car...and HITS A CONSTRUCTION WORKER IN THE BACK!!!!! I didn't know that had happened at the time, so as I'm cussing up a storm and getting out of the car to look at my destroyed rotor, here comes this worker holding his back and carrying my skinny. He hands it to me, and asks "Ma'am? is this your wheel that just smacked me in the back?" I stood in front of my passenger fender, and in best sweet ol innocent voice: "umm noooooo" LOL!! Luckily he wasn't mad, and since this was in December, they let me sleep in their truck as AAA took their usual 87238546787513 hours to get there! At the time I was PISSED because the wheel was ruined and so was my rotor, but now as I reflect...it was funny as hell ------------------ Elisha (Mustang Chick Extraordinaire) 1994 GT/Saleen: Cartech intake,4.10s, full exhaust, pulleys, Compucar nitrous kit 125 shot Sold the 1986 LX sedan http://www.geocities.com/mustangbelle_306 AOL name: GT306Chick |

LOL Sounds like something that would happen to me with my low level of "engine head".
"What? the car might not stay in one piece if I drive it?? nnnnaaaaaaa. Who the heck needs oil? So, who's goin shotgun?" |

hey, that sounds like something i'd do! only, i go around at 4500rpm+ w/no oil pressure! and i use my oil warning light as a shift light! hey, the light comes on at 6500, the rev limiter is at 6650!sounds good to me! who cares if its making a strange tapping sound, and sucks oil endlessly.

When you said "funny weld story" I thought you were going to tell a story similiar to when my friend got a C in "welding class" when he accidently welded his final project to the teacher's desk...
Back when I had my Altima one of the wheel covers flew off and careened into a group of people (on West Campus Dr.). I thought that was funny. |

Hey, at least it was an aluminum skinny, and not a stock wheel or a Cobra R or something, that would have killed the poor guy!!

hehe...reminds me of a similar situation. There I was knee deep in elephant grass...oops wrong story. I was riding at about 55mph when I felt the truck I was in hop, it didn't fall right over like yours but I slowed down just in case. About three seconds later I feel anouther bounce and look in the side veiw mirror just in time to see a 32x8 inch tire pull to the side of me. Then I felt the truck fall back (drivers side rear) and the tire go zipping past. I slowed to a stop and watched as the tire went careening through a set of four mailboxes and take out a wooden rail fence. The tire hit a tree, bounced about seven feet in the air and came crashing to a hault. Sitting in disbelief for a second, I got out and looked to see that the axle had broken off and took drum, wheel and tire with it. Yeah I had to sit for about 43155663456 hours waiting for the tow truck as well. Not funny then but its pretty funny looking back.
