I'm not blaming the trans problems on my clutch, I'm just saying a new clutch that'll grab hard won't help a worn transmission.
The trans has over 100k on it, the synchros in 2nd are worn and it grind sometimes depending on how fast/hard I try to shift, plus it whines pretty bad which I'm guessing would be the bearings inside are worn. The throwout bearing is also trashed, it used to make that chirping noise last year, then a grinding sound. Now it makes a quit grind noise. Either way, the clutch started to go, my friend clutched the piss out of it afterwards cause he can't drive stick which made it worse. Then I raced my friend which spun the clutch the whole time, and now it slips all day. I just want to throw a clutch in it for the time being, then I'll throw a trans in it when the current one breaks. I was checking out the motorsports/ram/centerforce clutches, I want one with a fairly stiff pedal, so I'm not sure if I want to mess with the king cobra clutch unless it's really worth it.
