Post New Cobra???

I recently saw some pictures of a new car made by ford. I have not been able to find those pics again and can't find anything on them. I believe that it said it was the new 2002 or 2003 Cobra, was silver, and had a fairly radical new design. The Back end of it slightly resembled a corvette and the front had some slight, older 300z lines. I do know that it looked bad *** but I can't find the article and pictures I originally read. I am not positive it was a cobra but it was definitely at least a regular mustang. Any help with this is appreciated.

I just posted "New Thunderbird" with a pic... is that the car you're thinking of?

That's the FR500 showcar. No indication that it will ever go into production although some of its parts may.

That's right, it's the FR500. There was an article a few months ago in MM&FF about it.

Very similar in HP & TQ as the Cobra R, very unique intake setup and I think it was a 5.4L, but not sure. Can someone confirm..

As stated above, there were rumors that FR500 parts would be available, but I've heard nothing lately.

wow, this is the first time i've seen those pics. and i must say; ME LIKEY that's an awsome look for the mustang. it still looks aggressive without ruining the integrity of the mustang design. i've seen supposed "concept" pics of 2003+ stangs, and i; in a word; HATED them.

it's good to see that the mustang is headed in a good direction. while the comaro and firebird face discontinuation. it's good to be a Blue Oval guy right about now.

There were 2 or 3 FR500's built if I remember correctly. One (for sure) of them used the spray bore 4.6L shortblock that actually displaces 5.0L's. One of the other ones was a simple 4.6L with a cylinder head and induction change, along with a ton of suspension modifications.
