Somewhere along hte line I got lost. I think it is when i was told to get a "fox" body or whatever, I have no clue waht that means lol sorry. I"m new to cars. Anyway, someone asked if it was manual or auto. It's an auto and y'all keep saying insurance will rape me (I'm relieved to here someone else other than me use that term in a sentence, but thats not the point, lol) The insurance wouldnt rape me, I got a quote
(Allstate Insurance Company)
Under my parents name?:
Liability only: $84 month.
Full Coverage: $182 month.

That's not cheap, but its not expensive eiither...

But I've come up with another solution. Please dont be mad.
lol

I've decided not to get the '89. I'm going to take my dads jeep cherokee and drive it around for a couple months and then decide waht to get.

Since I'm not getting the '89 my new dilema is whether I should get the '95 mustang or a 97 Eclipse. Eclipse's are nice cars. You can modify them and they are cheaper on insurance. What do you all think?

Sorry to keep asking for opinions

hey man sounds like a plan, learn on the jeep so you don't molest a pristine stang. i gurantee you won't regret waiting.

fox- is the industry term for the 1979-1993 body designation of mustangs, beginning in 79- an goin till the last Gt in 93. their were generally 2 body styles: a hatchback a notchback, both relatively the same setup, engine, trannie, with the GT hatchback actually being a lil slower in the 1/4 mile that its lighter lil brother the LX 5.0 due to its added weight from the ground effects. the lx 5.0 was essentially a poor mans GT, strippped down interior, power nuthin, an no body kit. but the right ticket for anybody lookin to throw these ponies down the 1/4 mile

with the introduction of the new body style in 94 the name changed from fox to SN95<- (jus industry term again designating body styles) some people call it the Fox-4 cause it was essentially the same set up as fox, but the 4 represented the birth year..1994. the 5.0 lasted another year,(1995) but was replaced with the modular 4.6 in 96.

good call on waiting to get what you really want......

and for the love of God, don't get an Eclipse...............i can almost guarantee you that what you save in insurance will go towards repairs.....if you really want one, read as much as you can about these cars, because there is a lot of stuff you should know going into the purchase..........these cars have lots of issues and many of these cars are abused.......and the n/a's don't have that much potential

Wow, for once I agree with this is not cbring.

Do not waste your time and money on the Eclipse. It's obvious from your first post that you want a Mustang, so a Mustang you should get. It took me 7 long years of driving other vehicles (8 of them to be exact) to realize that I should have just gotten a Mustang to start with.

Drive the Jeep for as long as he will let you, looking for 'the' car the whole time. I found mine witk 31k miles on it, this summer. There are solid good deal cars out there, take your time and find one.

I'd never drive a jeep, those things are junk.....wait i do drive a jeep
With 230,000 miles on it the Jeep is still ticking (has header leak). Good to hear you have an idea of what you want. I would highly recommend any other car other than an eclipse or mitsubishi (not a big fan of mitsubishi). Good luck,
