new jersey inspection
 

My car is due for inspection and the car has no egr valve and no air pump, can anything happen to me when they pop the hood and see nothing there, fine, impound, or would they just send the car through the line? A few told me nothing would happen but there must be a reason why they are checking under the hoods now.

I dont know how it works in Jersey (I am here, but, my vehicles are registered and inspected in TX), but, in TX they will just fail your inspection, and require that you get it fixed and have a form signed by the mechanic that fixed it.
