New Media Center

Everyone - The old Media Center system on the site has now been replaced by a brand new one. The new Media Center now allows every member to create their own photo gallery. You can also create albums within your gallery, as well. Furthermore, the new system will also allow you to upload video and audio clips into our video/audio categories for all viewers to watch. This means everyone can now contribute to our media archives.

Beyond that, the new system automatically creates photo thumbnails, sizes photos, allows members to post comments and rate each photo. The system tracks views and statistics, as well.

Everyone check it out and enjoy. Just click on "Media Center" on the left navigation menu or go directly to: http://media.mustangworks.com

Dan, what format are the videos in? I only have Windows Media Player and I get a error message saying that the program does not support the format for the videos. I would download Real Player or another viewer, but this is a work computer and that is against "the rules". I was just curious so I can download the required program at home. Thanks.

Most of the pre-existing videos on the site are in Real Video G2 format. You'll need to download the free Real Video basic player to view them. Windows Media Player will not work for that format.

I still have a LOT of photos and multimedia files to import into the new system from the old, but 3/4th of everything is already there.

Dan, I'd just like to take this time to say....
YOU DA MAN!!!

StangFlyer 01-06-2003 06:38 PM

Thanks Tireburner. I spent most of last week just creating all the categories and importing all the existing photo galleries into the system. I wasn't really ready to roll it out yet entirely, but with all the new photos that will be added this week from the North American International Autoshow I pushed it out so it could be used now for that purpose.

Any ways, come on people... Start uploading your stuff!! :D

Awesome!!

Thanks a bunch Dan for your efforts here at MW. You are truly Da Man

The Deuce 01-06-2003 08:18 PM

Thanks for all your hard work Dan.

BTW, I've got over 200 shots from the LA show! I'll sort through them and post the cool Ford shots, and we all can compare shows. Personally, I think we get hosed with Detriot going at the same time. Still haven't seen a GT40, and we might get the Mustang next year.:(

Hey, that reminds me... I need to get that VHS tape out to you Dan! :)

I was checking out the pics of the 2005 Mustang concepts earlier, and noticed something was different. As I kept looking through, I noticed the new format, along with the TONS of other pics over the past several years!!!

I have some pics to throw up as well... but I need your help, Dan, getting my video footage up. My digital camera footage of my TV is just plain terrible! :D

Thanks again!
-Ryan

Duece - that would be great. Just make a private album on in the Media Center and let me know when you've uploaded them all (hint: you can ZIP them and upload the zip file). I'll then just create a LA Auto Show category in the photo archives and bulk move them to it.

StangFlyer 01-06-2003 11:12 PM

Well Ryan, I can't do much for ya if you don't send me the tape... :p

ultraflo 01-06-2003 11:17 PM

Dan, no excuses here... I'll have the tape out by the end of the week.

I just need that address again:

rls302cid@hotmail.com ...if you like :)

FWIW, I didn't know you'd have the new and improved Media Center up and running so soon! :D ...oops! I guess that would constitute and excuse, no? :p LOL!

Well Dan, all I have to say is WOW. You did quite a job on that media center. It's beautiful, extensive, and detailed. *Sheds a tear*....ima go with Josh on this one...You da man!

302 LX Eric 01-08-2003 08:56 AM

Dan - thanks for making the site even better. And, a BIG thanks for making it so easy to upload things...I'm not very good with images/uploading/sizing/digital camera's...etc. But, I'm learning.

Again, thanks.

I've got a couple of Vids in MPEG format that you guys might enjoy.

How do I upload them? Yes, I'm not too computer literate....

Thanks...

StangFlyer 01-08-2003 11:58 PM

Just go to the Media Center and click "upload photos". You can upload many different file formats, including MPEG's, Windows Media, Quicktime, Real Video, Wave, etc...

If it's video you'd like to add to our video archives, just select the "Member Video" category in the drop down on the upload page.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Ty'97Cobra 01-09-2003 10:01 AM

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

jj_jonathon 01-15-2003 11:15 AM

Dan:

Why are the smilies in the comments in the media center different? They look huge and pixelly to me.

StangFlyer 01-15-2003 04:18 PM

Yeah they suck, I'm going to replace them with the Vbulletin ones soon!!

MTU 50 01-16-2003 02:38 PM

Sweet! I have to get some pics scanned finally. This might be the motivation I needed.

Great Job, Dan!
