Not Sure what to do. Mod 2000 GT or more for 64
 

Hello Everyone.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. My Tax returns are actually substantial this year, and my bonus check is going to be decent also. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/rolleyes.gifWhat I cant make up my mind about is I'm not sure what to do with the money. Use it for Gears (3:73) and Flow Master 40 series for my 2000 GT, or use it to buy a T5 and some Shelby Tri-Ys for my 64 1/2. I want to put a manual in my old stang so bad, and new exhaust for it, but people at the Local Street racers hang out either laugh at my old car and wont race it(because it looks stock as hell, but its not) or are scared and wont race it.

The engine in the old Stang is a powerhouse, but the C4, and rear gears just dont do it justice, well neither does the non advancing Vacumm Advance. Got replace that. I was thinking if I put a manual behind it, I'm going to want posi-traction to help it get traction that it so desperatly needs, and some gears to pep up accerleration.

Or, I could get some pullies and gears for my new GT. Or Pullies and Throttle Body..ARGHHHHHH Cant make up my mind...Help. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gifAny advice would be great....

Well, that depends on how much you actually have
Maybe you should get some gears for both, that will be the best gain for each.
Flowmasters alone won't give a notable power gain, so unless your only interest is sound, I would forego those for now and go with the gears.

And maybe some pulleys for the '00.

my opinion is one sided i love old mustangs alot more even though i am young. Put the money in the 64

I own both a 65 and a very nice 87. Made the decision 4 years ago to put what "play" money I had avaliable, into my 65. No regrets at all and the car is comming out great which gives me a tremendous amount of satisfaction. I do plan on backing off on the 65 after this year (should need only tweeking after this years investment) and began to concentrate on doing some serious modifications to the 87 in 2002. If I had to do it over again, I would do it (invest in the old iron) the same way.
