Smile Observation of other forums

I have enjoyed being a member of MustangWorks for just over a year now and I have been a lurker on a couple of other forums as well but never felt compelled to join. MustangWorks is a great forum, it has members who actually drive Mustangs and are interested in Mustangs. I hate it that it appears we lost a lot of readers with the loss of SmackHouse but there are plenty of people left here with knowlege and insight into the world of Mustangs.

Other forums tend to flame each other personally and make fun of newbies like they have no place on their forum. Why would anyone want to join and be a part of that? I never felt that, not even at the beginning. I was welcomed and have always felt that my input was appreciated. On other forums there seems to be plenty of people who don't even own Mustangs, they just jumped on for the porn.

I have been a Mustang lover longer than some of you have been alive, and I always try to give good advice, and if technical, I look it up so I don't give out incorrect information. I have also learned a lot from this forum about Mustangs.

Maybe there are not as many old timers left since Smack House went away, but there are still quality posts every day. I have made a couple of friends that I talk to on AIM from this forum. I like to see we are getting newbies every week, encourage them to become active and keep MustangWorks the best Mustang forum on the net.

So, it was the loss of smack house that made a lot of users stop coming here? I wondered why a lot of people left. I don't think I ever visited the smack house forum. I come here to talk mustangs whether I am seeking answers or giving them. I am glad that there are people who still stop in. This site is my favorite mustang site. I only visit some of the other message boards once in a blue moon. I am glad that we have new people joining each week too. This site kicks ASS!

I was wondering where everyone went too. I guess they were only here for the SmackHouse. Ah well. Too bad so sad.

Smack house was a section for off topic, anything goes, very little moderation, postings, became the home for the famous "Post your T & A's" thread. It was eliminated a few months back when the site was restructured. A lot of people apparently left, but MustangWorks is STILL the best without it!

Losing the T&A thread in smack house hurt really bad. I am just now getting over it

But i am still here. At least in Windsor power once a day.

Don't get me wrong, I looked at that stuff too but that was not why I came to Mustangworks in the first place, and I stayed because of the Mustangs!

I really like this site. I have always driven Fords and done all my on work, but never had a Mustang. Before I bought my car I looked for web sites for info. I really appreciate you guys here and have learned alot from you. Alot of things I found out here helped me determan what car I wanted and what to look for. I to have been to a few other sites and found exactly what OrangeGT was talking about. I try to vist every morning and night. Again thanks to everyone for your help and input here.
