ARP assembly lube and thread sealer.???

I was wondering if the assebley lube (moly) was the same as some stuff I got from the local auto parts store. It is just a generic Moly assembly lube. I was also wondering if the thread sealer was the same as the Permatex thread sealer. Is ARP thread sealer thick (like rubber cement?) I can't get the ARP stuff withoug orderig it and I already have the other stuff. I was wondering if it would be good eonugh. Thanks.

The ARP thread sealer is teflon based, and is tested not to effect the torque readings. The factory does not use thread sealer like this anyways. The ARP sealer looks more like the thread sealer used for plumbing than anything else I have seen if you want to go that route, dont use the teflon tape thought.

What is the consistency of it though? is it thick? like rubber cement? Thanks

I won't ever use anything other than ARP thread sealer. It's the absolute best I have ever used. By far. It is not thick, but has an almost grainy texture. If it won't seal your connection, nothing will.

You spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on a motor, dont get cheap for $7 worth of lube/sealaer.
I used the ARP stuff (parts list):
