Today I orderd a proshifted tremec "TKO II" and a 11" Ram 900 race clutch W/long style pressure plate and billit flywheel. I can't wait till I get this in my car so I can see what it will run. I'm looking for 11.5 on motor.

What shop are you getting the trans from? I'm looking to get the same trans and trying to find the best place to get it from. How much do they sell the TKO II's for?

You have the shortened driveshaft and such?

429 mustang, I ordered it from Liberty transmissions. I paid 2050 for the trans, to have it proshifted, and the drive shavt yoke. If you wanted the trans alone it would be like 1500.

jimberg, You do not need a shortened driveshaft for the tremecs. All you need is a bellhousing if you go with the 3550.

Hmm, I guess you're right. For some reason I had it in my head that TKOs were longer or something like the T-56s.

Just installed one a week ago in my 1989 Mustang.
I put in a Tremec TKO, Ram900 clutch pressureplate, steel bellhousing, crossmember, and driveshaft.
See photos at: http://members.mustangworks.com/drudis/mustang/tko/

p.s. Look out for the 26 splines on the input shaft, and the special output (21?) spline yoke you need (but stock LENGTH FMS driveshaft), and special offset crossmember.
Otherwise its a bolt-in!
