Srv
I recently became a fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan and was wondering what some real good songs were... I love the wailing guitar!! :)

gee, where do i start? check out all his albums Joe. i cant say which one is the best or my favorite, cause they all are!!:D
i have Stevie doing a 12 minuite of Astro Man!(Hendrix) wow! there is bootlegs of him out there doing alot of soungs that arent on his albums, but you have to dig. The Sky is Crying by Robert Johnson, is one of my most favorites Stevie did. you have to check out his DVD's too. the man can play. he is the only guitarist to this day that plays with more heart and soul than i ever seen or heard. a very close second would absolutely be Jimi. no question about that. check out "Life By the Drop" which is on "Sky is Crying" album. another sad song is "Life Without You" on "Soul to Soul". i am sure you will be happy no matter what cd you buy of him. dont forget "Little Wing" solo Stevie does.....i could go on and on...you get the idea! glad you found him. you wont be disappointed! |
srv1, live alive, when stevie did voodo child, was better than hendrix imo.
|
Saw him live do Voodoo Child,, His most rocking song.
If your into Guitars, Robin Trower smokes all. "Bridge of Sighs" |
check out "Life By the Drop"
thats by far my favorite of his. Pride and Joy is close, especially the 12string live version. I about crap my pants evertime I listen to that because I'm a guitar player and could never imagine being able to do anything even close to that awesome A couple younger guys that seem to have been inspired by Stevie are Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Johnny Lang, and Max Allen. oh yah, his version of Marry had a little lamb is great too :) i could go on and on and on.... but i wont |
Best Stevie recording ever
I have to say that I have the most amazing tune. Its labeled Duel at the Crossroads, or something like that. 10 minutes or so of SRV and Eric Johnson, actually dueling on guitar. A good ear can tell them apart (obviously) like when Miles and Coltrane would play off each other. It's at work, but I will figure out how to get it to anyone who wants it.:D
Yeah, like they all said. He was the man. His death, on par with Buddy Holly bad(the day the music died). Imagine if they both had lived to go gray. |
The Deuce, if you could make me a copy of that then that would be awesome.
I'll reimburse you for any blank cd and shipping costs. or you could just tell me where to find it, i have never seen it before. I thought i had seen all of them |
:)
Thanks for all the replies, guys... I can't wait to hear 'em all! :) |
