how does the heirarchy (?) work?

I was just wondering how many posts or how long it takes to be classified as a member, or a senior member, etc.... Thanks, Keith

Kamaro Killer 07-25-2002 02:07 PM

?????

I'm not using this info to be a post hoe. I am just curious because there isn't anywhere that states how each different status level is attained. I could care less how I'm listed whether it's junior member, or CEO, I could care less, I was just wondering. Thanks, Keith.:)

joe4speed 07-26-2002 01:39 AM

when I got my senior member, it was at 150 posts.

StangFlyer 07-26-2002 05:57 PM

* Junior Member (Posts: 0)
* Member (Posts: 100)
* Senior Member (Posts: 500)

I can create all the user titles I want and specify at what number of post users get them. Why doesn't every suggest a structure of user titles and numbers that would be cool. Who knows, maybe I'll change the default configuration to something cooler. ;)

The Deuce 07-26-2002 06:08 PM

I always wondered who gave people their 'special' titles. Like did the board really vote Unit the 'Midwests biggest PITA'? I know now they didn't but I think I would get into trouble if had the ability to name other people.

I still laugh at Joes - He said member....heh heh.

I suppose a more divided structure would be cool, just don't take away the change option for people over 500. Someday, someday I say, I will have a funny name.:D

Hey Dan, I used to have a usermname of CROCK with 1000 posts. I had the same password I have now. Anyway, can you add those 1000 posts to my total under my current username? Im falling behind the curve anymore...:)

LOL. Actually, they did. Someone started a thread asking for members to secretly vote on who was what, kinda like a school yearbook thing. Anyway, Kell was voted biggest PITA, among other things.

Dan-
Having different titles for different post amounts is a great idea, but I also like being able to write my own.

James-
I'm not 100% sure, but I think once you reach 1500 posts, you have the option in your control panel to write your own title.

Take care,
~Chris

Yes Kell WAS voted the biggest PITA. I set up the poll. Here's the thread

http://forums.mustangworks.com/showt...light=whos+who

SRV1 you can change it once you get to 1500 posts

Topless In Texas 07-27-2002 12:43 AM

ya, and I thought that sucked. :rolleyes:As far as Im concerned Unit and SRV are two of the most down to earth and nicest guys I have met here! They speak their mind, but others do too. They are just more Vocal in some ways while others try to 'slime' thier way around it. They just have a unique personality. Thats what has kept this board alive for so long. Not trying to change the subject. But, thats just my opinion....
I think its time to change my 'fingerprints piss me off'. I've had that for too long......maybe a new avater too! :cool: hmmmm..........:D TNT

First of all, the label of "junior member" is just insulting. The idea of giving someone a label by the number of posts they make is ridiculous. It should be about the quality of posts and what the member contributes to the forums and not based on wether or not someone is a post *****.

Settle down Francis.

The idea of quality is too subjective, and I don't think it would actually help your status at all. I'm having too much fun with this.

Dang Chris, 1500? I thought I only needed ninety more or so to get to be funny up there. Now I gotta go ho around like Marty to get up there.

Topless In Texas 07-27-2002 01:01 AM

EXCELLENT POINT!!!

Youd have passed my *** a long time ago! :D There are alot of posts out there that are meaningless....Too bad they cannot be differenciated by those that have value! For a brief period of time (a week or two maybe?) after Dan started allowing the members to write their own, there was no set amount of posts required. When the decision to make it an option for members with 1500 posts or more was made, any members who had already changed theirs were exempted. Yours is the way it is because you wrote it at the right time, but I would be surprised if you have the ability to go and change it now. I'm not 100% on this, but it's the way I seem to remember hearing it when it was discussed several months ago.

Take care,
~Chris
