Cartech Box intake driving advice??

Hey guys! I may know a fair share about Stangs, but I don't mind asking when I'm confused about something, so here goes!

I just traded my GT40 for a Cartech box upper and ported and polished stock lower. So, of course I lost a good bit in the bottom end torque area, but my 4.10s seem to help a bit in that area. When I'm racing I usually shifted around 5300 with the GT40. Should I be altering this now that I have the Cartech? I'm thinking yes. I want to be able to get the most out of this new part, so please give your advice!

Yup,you should definately be able to shift at a higher RPM now with the Cartech manifold as this is a mid-range and high rpm intake.Do some experimenting with this at the track for the best results.

The GT-40 intake levels off at around 5500 RPM...

I have a Cratech Box on the Black Mamba, and I have no trouble shifting beyond 6K. I usually shift around 6500, but I also have a Supercharger. Like Mustangguy said, it would be best to go to a track and test it a bit. I would expect you shift points to change from 5300 to roughly 6200+/-. Hope that helps some. Later.

Thanks so much for your advice guys!! Now I just need to take the darn thing off again and redo the gaskets bc its burning oil... I'll probably just wait until its time for the motor to come out...Thanks again!!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/tongue.gif
