T-Tops on a '96 GT

Alright I am buying a '96 GT in a week or so and it isn't convertible like I wanted but its a good deal so I am going to take it. Anyone have any opinions about T-Tops on it. Can it be done and does anyone know where I can get some pictures to check out?

Damn!! It can be done but it will cost a lot of money. Don't do it....use the money to make your stang faster...you need all the help you can get against these Solaras, Altimas and V6 Mustangs.

you can do it, but i wouldn't suggest it. i actually thought about doing it to my 99 v6, but decided against it 1. because it would cost somewhere between $1000 and $2000 2. money could be spent on other parts of the car 3. no one in my area has the automotive expertise to pull something like that off and make it look good. T-tops would be sweet and original, but really it's about what you want to do. if you want them that bad go for it.

it can probably be done, but definatly would not recomend it.
had a freind that did it to his mid 70's chevelle (maybe it was a malibu, it's been a few years) i remember him saying it was a major pain in the a**! he did the work himself and it still cost quite a bit just to get the parts. those glass roof panels are not cheap.
if you really like open cruising hold out for a convertible.

As a speed freak, I would vote against it for the simple fact that it adds weight and reduces the rigidity of the unibody.

I don't even think you can do it, because our SN-95s have a curved roof...Foxes are completely flat. I was thinking about a targa top for mine, but I think I would have to have a soft top, like a convertible. Then you also have to reinforce the entire structure, like when you chop a hardtop into a vert. I know, I want something different too, but that custom work involves so much labor, you'd kill yourself looking at the estimate. If you find out some info on the T top subject, please let me know!
