Would you risk it?
My girlfriend wants to visit African Lion Safari in Toronto, and wants to drive though the animal park in the 'Stang.
I looked up the site, and on the main page is an 88 Cutlas with a family of baboons roosting on the trunk. Would you guys take your cars through somthing like that - think there's any risk? |
If she really wants to drive the stang through there and will throw a fit if you dont then just drive it. You can outrun all the animals there!

I'm worried about a Rihno getting up close and personal or some monkey that thinks i don't need an antenna.
AHH HECK! I'll just drive it! |
Oh..man I luv my Stang to much to subject it to some wild animals, although as Smokedawg said, I think it will be pretty fun to outrun the animals. Don't you have some beater you can drive or perphaps maybe renting a car? Oh well up to you, let us know how it goes. =)

I've heard stories of those monkeys bending antennas, pulling mouldings off, etc. I'm sure that the park is not liable for any damage (probably make you sign a waiver).
It may not be as fun, but I think that they do have a bus that you can go on instead of taking your own car thru. I haven't been there since I was a kid, but I remember it as being a fun place. I guess I'll have to go this year with my wife & son (he's 4 1/2). He'll just love it (but we'll take the wife's car!) If you want, stop in Toronto & I'll trade your Mustang for my winter beater to drive thru the park! Hmm.. probably not, I'd be afraid of some lion that would think my car is its mate... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Just see if you can borrow some else's car, or a winter beater that you won't worry about as much..

Naaah. I wouldn't do it for reasons stated earlier. I'd worry about the terrain and animals. NOT in the Mustang. Not me.

SisuStang is right about those monkey's. I have personally seen them tear up a soft top one time. I have also heard many stories about those things ripping of side moldings too. I was only like 10 at the time, but after that, I told myself I would never go in there when I got a car.

How loud is your exhaust http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif? If a monkey tried to step to Marbles it would end up pissing all over it self from fright. Let it get close enough...then stomp on it. Light Em Up!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

No way would I do it!!!. Infact I would smack the person that brought up the idea if my car was involved.

A few years ago my wife and I went through Bear Country wildlife park in South Dakota. They wouldn't let us go in our convertible (rented Sebring before I had the Stang) and gave us a courtesy car. There's a chance they won't let you go in it even if you wanted to. I wouldn't do it anyway just because you never know what might happen.

Would your girlfriend think it would still be fun to drive through there with HER car!
I doubt it. It's not her car so why should she worry if it gets damaged. ------------------ '82 GT 351W C-4,BBK headers,Carter 625 carb,Comp.Cam,Flowmaster exhaust. 1988 GT...T-5,bone stock |
rent a landrover and go out there and run over the little bastards!

I've done one of those before, and it was really fun. take the mustang, if anything get's too close just rev a lot or honk the horn, maybe do a burnout. that worked for us (in a camry) it should work for you. we also got to where we could spin the front tires, and angle the spray in the direction of animals. it was fun!!!!
