5.0 Civil Wars. Who's going?

Who's going to the Rock this weekend to watch or run in the 5.0 Civil Wars? I'm going to try to go, and if I do go, I'm probably going to run in the Ricer's vs. 'Stangs shoot out.

I hope to see some of you out there. Any Moderators going?

bigwhitecobra 04-24-2001 09:41 PM

Ok, I know it isn't the FFW or NMRA, but it's still going to be fun.

White00GT, are going to make the trip? RBatson? Anyone?

white00GT 04-24-2001 11:07 PM

Hummmm....Thats a good question. I'm not sure if I'm going to go or not. If it's this weekend I'm going to be changing my rearend, and changing some gauges around. I'm not sure if I'll have time to make it or not. Although that Ricer's vs. 'Stangs shoot out would be a lot of fun. HEHE.

Yeah, I'll be there. I was wanting to run the 89 on the track for the first time. I got the chip and radiator in so I could have it done in time and guess what.. a week ago I noticed a puddle under it when coming out of the store and I was like "No, not MY car. Must have been the car before mine" Coolant! I parked the car and looked at it this weekend, yep coolant coming from my car!! Towards the back of the engine. I haven't seen it close enough to tell if its the head gasket(I can't see it), heater core or a loose hose somewhere. I put the JMS chip in and the fuel pump won't stop running!! I take it out and the car will run ok.. I clean the connections some more and put the chip back in and the fuel pump won't quit.. took the chip out and now the damn car won't even start!! GRRRR!

Long story short.. Yeah, I'm going! Looks like I'll be driving the cobra. Know some local boys are going too..

Oh do you know what set of rulez it is? If it's NHRA or IHRA rules? Last weekend at Atl. I was having to do the 1-2-3-5 shuffle to stay out of the 11's because I don't have my cage in yet. If it's IHRA thats cool because there rules for cages is 11.49 or faster, NHRA is 11.99 or faster has to have a 5-6 point cage.

<In a high pitched voice from being kicked in the nads> It's IHRA rulez, although, for the Ricer vs. Stang War, It's run whatcha brung. I called and asked about the roll cage, and for the shoot out as long as you are not running in the 10's you are ok. Now, keep in mind that this is "word of mouth" but I was assured that everything was kosher(sp).

I really wanted to take the GT, but she's not going to be put back together for a while. Oh well, there's always next year. (****** )

I found a set of wheels and Drag radials for $180, and I may go ahead and get them for this weekend. Anybody have a set of slicks they want to sell this week end?

white00GT 04-26-2001 12:11 AM

The 10's sounds really quick to not have a cage. Geez I get pretty edgy when I make a normal run and the time slip says 11.6X@122.XX with out a cage. Although I did find out that the .8 5th in the T-56 really dosen't pull that bad at Atl, my wrist kinda hurts from jamming it over there though http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/rolleyes.gif. Anyway is it all weekend or is it pretty much Sat. and Sun? I'm going to be swapping my rearend around this weekend, and changing some gauges around so I need to find out if I'm going to have time to come up there or not (run or sit and watch). Oh and I didn't mean for her too...well you know..my bad, I just said kick meaning foot or leg or something....but not..... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/eek.gif

The Ricer/'Stang thing is on Sunday. My Mom lives in Rockingham and I'm just going to stay with her all week end. That way I can see it all.

Anywho, I didn't really believe what that guy was saying, but he is the spokesperson. Again, this is "word of mouth".

Mercury 04-26-2001 01:59 AM

I'll be going. Hope to see you all there. We should do something, or wear something so we know he each other are.

Tim C will be there with me also. Yes...Get time away from my girlfriend... http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Its only about 45-60 minutes to rockingham from my place. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

bigwhitecobra 04-28-2001 01:50 AM

I'll be wearing my MW T-shirt.

I just off the Rockingham dragway's web site, and I am slightly dissapointed. The Mustang/ Ricer shootout is for 4bangers and V6's!

Maybe I can convince them I have a V6. I'll tell them that all the noise is from anouther 'Stang I recorded. Heh heh. I'm sick.

WHITECOBRAGIRL94 04-28-2001 11:38 AM

Yes you are, but we all knew
that already.

We could take the Tbird and
say it is a mustang with a
tbird body kit like the one
for sale in auto trader. He
He. (or the ranger)

bigwhitecobra 04-29-2001 09:15 PM

I didn't get to go. Oh well, how did everyone else do? I hope better than me. Actually, you probably shouldn't tell me, I'll get all depressed and junk, and then I'll have to go to a FFW event. Oh wait, is that a bad thing?
