Installing fog lamps in a '96 3.8
I had a look under the front bumper skin to find that there are two wires already sitting there for the fog lamps. I also noticed that there is an empty spot in my fuse box for what looks like a relay. What does it take to get them working?

I installed them in my ex-girlfriends 3.8 stang. I ordered the lights from www.stangparts.com and wired them to the headlight wire using a realy to get power from the battery instead of overloading the headlight wires. It was a fairly easy install, you just have to buy the bolts that fit. Her car did not have any wires for the lights, so you may have it easy!! Let us know how it goes! Good luck! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

I'm thinking I only need to install a relay, and hook up the lamps, but I can't figure out where the fog lamp switch is. Maybe I have to install that also. Can someone who has a GT tell me where their stock fog lamp switch is located?
Thanks... ------------------ MonsterTrosity |
I just hooked tge switch lead from the relay to the headlight wire, so they go on when the lights go on... some people hook the switch lead to the parking lights so they will go on with the parking lights...

Good idea. That's EZ 'nuf. Where can I get some stock lamps?

I put a set on my buddy's 94. If I remember right, the fog lamp switch goes in the center console. We ordered the switch from Ford then it plugged right into the console. All the wiring was done already in his car also.

That's good to know. So all I need to do is order the lamps, the switch, and the relay, and I'm set.
