Remove exhaust resonator

Hi,
Basically I have stock exhaust setup,
however, after close inspection of my setup,
I noticed that right after the cats (up
front), there are two resonators. So
basically I have: cats -> resonators -> mufflers Also, I have Mac cat-back with
Flowpath mufflers and 3" chrome tips.

I like the sound of my car, but I am looking
towards a more throaty sound, and was
wondering if it's worth removing the
resonators? As I write this, I'm gonna
call up a few muffler shops to see how much
they'd charge for the removal. If it's about
$100-$150CDN total, I think I'll do it.

Thanks!
Bye!

I believe what you are seeing is just cats, there are 4 cats on the H-pipe. Your best bet for an improved sound would be to get a H-pipe without cats or an H pipe with good flowing cats, then a set of Mac FlowPaths for a deep throaty sound, long tubes won't hurt either.

It would be very inexpensive to just get rid of the cats completely as Fordgasm suggested. Summit has an off-road h-pipe for $110 USD.

Hi,
Well, Im gonna take some pics and
show you guys what my setup looks like
just so that you guys can see what I have.

As for removing cats, well I live in
Ontario, Canada and we have emission
laws; cats are mandatory.

Will let you know what I find out.

Bye!

Looking forward to seeing the picture, but the thing you are mistaking as a resonator is really a cat. The thing you are mistaking as a cat is a pre-heater. Both are required emissions components. Since emissions are required, a muffler shop won't touch them, and only removing them completely would help with your sound.

Replacing them with a high-flow h-pipe is probably your only option. You'll get better flow and better sound.
