Need advice on initial startup of mothballed 5.0

Hi everyone, I just got a hold of a 1990 5.0 that has been sitting in someones garage for 4 years, the guy lost his license way back, and hasnt driven or started the car for a very long time. The car isnt weather beaten or worn, and has low miles on the engine. Besides the dead battery, I need some tips on stuff to do before I even try to start it. For example, should I replace all the fluids, what about the filters, etc. Please give me some real advice, as this was a big investment. Thanks in advance for all your help.

filters and fluids... you might want to pull the Dist. and spin the oil pump drive to get oil to the bearings...put a little oil in each cylinder and let it sit for a day to soak the rings...turn the key on to run the fuel pump and check for any leaking seals/0-rings too..

Definetly drain and replace the oil & filter, power steering and brake fluid. If the car is an AOD, replace the trans fluid & filter. Your biggest enemy will be any gasoline left in the tank for 4 years. Gas turns into varnish over time. Siphon the tank and replace the fuel filter. Fresh coolant would be a good choice too. Good luck.
