Talk about being high strung!!! Could you even think about driving that on the street? What about the "Shop Car"? 13.51@100, would you drive it? I think I'm goning to shut up before I say some really ignorant stuff. See you guys and gals later.

what they neglect to mention is that the car has over 30,000 invested in it. The same money in a stang ang you are running 8's, or even 7's now a days.

Warmed over 302,
Edelbrock Carb, MSD, Accel, t-5 w/ frpp flywheel & clutch, Hurst shifter, traction bars, ds safety loop, subframes, 3.08 posi, shorties, H, and Flows. Same setup w/ auto netted a 12.54 @ 110.90
in a 300 lbs heavier car.
Can't wait till Spring for E-town.

eh...

my buds got a BAD lil civic... runs a t3/t4.. on the stock shortblock he ran around for a year w/o problems, running up to 14.7psi i believe. Surprising, but it was done right http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif. That lil fugger would move too. Now.. built bottom end.. more boost.. runs 11's. Of course.. bought a explorer so now the civvy is goin full race with minimal street duty on the side http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

I hate Honda owners!

what it takes to get a go cart (CRX) to hit 11's:
"The engine, with 18 lbs. of boost and a 100 hp shot of nitrous, made 412 hp to the wheels at 6900 rpm and 365 ft. lb. tq. to the wheels at 6500 rpm."
what it takes to get a Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, etc. to hit 11's:
ALOT LESS MONEY and ALOT MORE RELIABILITY

Front wheel drive cars going 11's, that's gotta have a "tiny" bit of torque steer. No thanks, i'll stick to RWD vehicles.

I own a stang and a CRX and my CRX is far more reliable. I have often considered putting a turbo on my CRX to drop it into the 13's the turbo's are always on E-bay for about 400 bucks. I dont know I think it would be fun

All i'm saying is that an 11 second mustang (which it's almost always cheaper to hit 11's with mustang) sounds more reliable than a CRX hitting 11's with 18 lbs. of boost and a 100 hp shot of nitrous, but i may be wrong. I've never owned a CRX, so i can't really talk about reliability cause i've never had to drive one. I'm not saying Hondas aren't reliable, but i'd never want to run 18 lbs of boost and a 100 shot on anything, especially something you drive on the street. Just my opinion, and yes i am very biased. Do whatever makes you happy, i say http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

And not to mention the fact that they dont tell you that they have to replace that rice engine every race because 4 cyl cant handle that much horsepower, 30k is alot to spend on a car and is sure as crap alot to spend on a car everytime it races...

100hp shot of nitrous? ..please, that engine is replaced... alot....

drozzee 07-05-2001 10:15 PM

And i hate rice burners tooo...

Actually I think its kinda cool when some one builds a 4 banger into a fast car.

Granted its not something I have any desire to do myself, because the engineer in me would be constently saying, "Building a fast FWD car is like having a contest to see who can run backwards the fastest."

But I still appriciate what some of those guys do.

Honda will never go 11's without breaking the front axles. I owned few of these Japs but got sick of them and the constant repairs. Now I got a maintenance free fast car. My beauty 88 mint GT.

All the imports my family has owned, which have been mostly Toyota's were no more reliable than any of the other cars that we've had. They were ALL way more expensive to fix though. Would I buy another Toyota for a daily driver, if I liked it. But my decision would not be based on the fact that the vehicle was more reliable.

Just personal experience...
