I'm pissed. Embarrassed too.
Well......I know this one guy, 99 GT, 5-spd, black, Bullitt wheels, but other than that, perfectly stock. No mufflers, gutted cats, nothing. Anyways....there is another guy, that I don't know, that has a 2001 Grand Prix SE. Perfectly stock. Just like off the lot. They set up a race. I bet 5 bucks on the Stang figuring this was going to be pathetic. Knowing that there are a few cars like Lizard Kings running 13.6s, but I figured he's be at least 14.0. This guy with the Stang can drive too, I've ridden with him before, and it was pretty sweet. He powershifts everything but 1-2.
The Grand Prix won. 2 out of 3 times. I didn't see the race. But the guys who did said the Stang didn't spin much at all. And he got the GP off the line, but the thing just pulled about 1/2 a car the 2 times it won. And the Stang had a nose on him the time it won. That pisses me off. Not that I lost 5 bucks...but that he lost to a damn stock Grand Prix. That blows... ------------------ Previously "BennyBoy" '69 Coupe with 351W Edelbrock RPM intake, Edelbrock RPM cam, Edelbrock 750 cfm carb, Hedman headers, 2 1/2" pipe, glasspacks, C4, 9" Currie: Trac-Lok 3.70s, 290hp-stock heads |
Don't know what to tell you when a 200hp 3500lb car that runs 15's beats a 260hp car that runs a 14 flat.
Somethings not quite right with that pic. Especially about the SE running him down. |
i think it was fixed just so they could steal ur money from u and become rich
u gotta be more careful when it comes to betting becasue it is very easy to get scammed especially in races lol.....i'm just jokin i think maybe u should inspect the grand prix again make sure he ain't spraying or running sumthing u don't know about JAMES ------------------ Black 1990 gt cobra bonestock not for long |
ya, there is something definently wrong there. are you sure the GPSE doesn't have spray or something? Or might your friend have something trapped in his intake/airbox? leaves, trash, children, ferile cat?

That's what I think too. I bet there's a blue bottle hiding somewhere.

you sure it was a grand prix se and not a gtp with maybe a pulley to up the boost? the se comes standard with a 3.1L v6 that is well under 200hp you have option to get the 3800.
you would have to be a reallllllly piss poor driver to lose that race. |
That guy had to have been spraying...stock for stock a 99+mustang with V6 would be faster wouldn't it?

Dude, the one thing I've learned in street racing is that EVERYBODY is "stock". I don't care if you roll up with your car on a trailer and can barely keep it running while you stage...IT'S STILL STOCK...I SWEAR So that dude was spraying or something but there's no way that even a GTP could beat a 2000GT stock for stock. Hell there's no way a 2000 GTP could beat an SN95 GT stock for stock.

Ummmmm That part about the early SN-95's stock for stock (94-95 GT's and 96-98 GT 4.6's) that is not entirely true. Before I got my 2000 GT, when my dad was down visiting from PA, I would always drive his car on REAL hot days (Old Mustang...No AC) to work or to the mall and all.
I've raced several early SN-95's with my dads GTP (98) and won. Lost two 2 of them. 0-60 it was USUALLY all GTP, but around 70-75, the GTP just kinda starts falling on itself. Now a stock GTP vs. the 99+, thats another story! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif I've handed my dad his butt both times we raced. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif ------------------ 64 1/2 "D" code Red Mustang Coupe. 289, C4, Mallory duel point. I raced a '99 Buick Regal with that same supercharged 3800 V-6 as the GTP. This was at the track and I talked to him afterwards. He had a smaller pulley on it too. He ran 14.7 (mph unknown) to my 13.98. You'd have to work at it to lose to one of those in a '99 GT.
