dissapointed

well i jsut watched 20 minutes of american muscle car on speed vision on the boss mustangs and they didn't spin the tires from wut i saw.......the one boss 302 was barely chripin the 1 time but it wasn't wut i wanted
i watch that show to see smokin tires and hear some badass engines.........i know they are rare cars especailly the 429's but come on give us wut we wanna see.......i know that is wut got me hooked on muscle cars is 1 day when i was little this sweet soundin chevy went by and when it took off from the light it left a large patch of rubber.....

1 day i will have a 1969 boss 302 and a 2000 Cobra R sittin side by side in the heated garageand on either side an 1970 ls6 chevelle(best muscle car imo) and a 1968 hemi charger

The Boss 302 was designed as a road racer pure and simple. They were short on low end torque and were meant to run up at high RPM through the twisties.

They are now $50,000 collector cars. Most that own them won't take a chance on abusing them at the drag strip. They really are out of their element there anyway.

i know they are meant for the twisties but on other episodes they have the cars just stop on the road and leave a patch......i know they are worth 50+ grand i don't wanna see a drag run just to see a nice little smoke show......it may sound selfish but i just like the look of old muscle cars that nobody ever sees anymore lay a smokeshow

I think 50k is a little steep. My paid way less than that for his, and it was in incredible shape. I'd say the going rate for a complete Boss 302 is more like 25-35k

Oh, and btw, my uncle ran his on the Gtech several times. Very little traction with 16" Nitto 450's. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

I agree with you Rage, I like to see it too. Still I can understand why some of those "collector" owners don't want to do it. Too much money to be lost.

Also, alot of these "collector" muscle cars aren't even tuned well. They're mostly just "show" cars. Many of them probably won't even do an impressive "smoke show", i'll bet.

Back in the day, most ran high 14's at best. That's what I've seen in the literature anyway.

I think $50k is a little steep. But I think $25-35 is a little low. When my car was wrecked, they found it to be worth $20-25k. That is a bare bones coupe. No a/c, nothing special. Just a restomod in really good shape. I'd say $35-40k for an unrestored, decent Boss car. My 2 cents.

Unit, I'm curious as to how your uncle's car did on the G-Tech? Is it stock other than the 16" Nittos? When we're talking big $$$, we're out of my balliwick anyway, I was just guessing at the $50,000.
