Details on how to go about Shipping a car

Hey Guys and Gals,

There's an awesome 69 Ford Fairlane that I'm thinking about purchasing, one problem though I live out here on the west coast(California) and the Fairlane that I want to purchase is in Suffolk, VA. anyone know how I would go about getting the car shipped to me and what kind of costs are involved if I went that route? OR would it be more beneficial to me to fly out there and drive it back?

HELP!! Any suggestions would be great, thanks! :)

You could probably get a INDEPENDANT company to do it. Not sure on the cost though. I have a buddy that drives a truck and he will go pick up anything. I doubt he would want to haul it to the west coast though. You might be able to rent a moving tralier and have it hauled to you also.Just a thought.

i had my 30th ta shipped to me from texas using one of the regular car haulers. the type that ship the used cars to dealers from auctions and stuff. it ran me $400, but my wife worked for a dealer so i got a break on the price.
you could try the same or try someone like exotic car transports or something. they are prbably more expensive though. whichever way you go make sure you read the contract to ensure that they cover any damage done to your car in transport and then do a thorough inspection while the driver is still there upon reciept.

Try www.imove.com.

Probably run you between $500-$1000. Good luck!

Hey THANKS for the replies guys!! :)

I'm waiting on some info. from the owner, so I'm still up in the air as to fly down and drive the car back or have the car shipped to me. Either way its a sweeeet '69 Fairlane with a 351 Windsor, Toploader 4-speed. Needs a paint job and a new chrome bumper but other than that it looks great. Aw well I'll keep you guys updated. :D
