I'm a failure.
Well.....everyone.....I have failed.....I tried.....but I did not succeed....
I have a friend, that is, officially, ricing out his Camaro.:( I have talked about him on here before. He has a '92 RS 305. A purdy blue color with aluminum RS rims. A really nice sound system. I raced him and beat him by about 7 or 8 lengths up to about 70 a long time ago in my old Coupe.... At first he did good mods....shift kit, spacer, shifter, cowl induction/ram air hood.... But now....what a shame....he has those little neon valve stem lights....neon wire lights in his interior....magnetic flames from JCWhitney....and worst of all.....neon blue undercarriage lights....:confused: *shudders and drops head* I tried talking him out of it. But he said they were "pimpin" and all that BS. He just doesn't get it.... And I hear everyone talking about how awesome and "fast" and sweet the Slow and Delirious cars are and how that movie was just the coolest ever. And how all those cars have balls and NAAHHSS...I told them whatever, and they they all just about run 20 second quarter miles....and they're like yeah, that's fast right....ohhh.....what a shame..... I try to explain to them.....but they won't listen....I have failed.... My arm is held out....soak your noodle in water and strike me please......:( |
hey at least u tired. Now u just need to get that car of urs together and whip up on them and show how slow there cars really are.
|
Well, I talked to the guy who'll be painting my car today. He has me scheduled for the end of March. So my car sould be done sometime in the end of April/beginning of May completely!!!!! He's putting in a new rear window seal along with a new windshield and seal (anyone know where I can get a good windshield?) and the headliner after he paints it.
I'm getting excited!!!!!!:D :D |
You're not a failure!!!! *backhands sense into yah* :D
Its typical for lil kids to jump on a trend like this, so be it! You can have the last laff when he's getting numerous tickets for the annoying, illegal "MODS" on his car ;) Just make sure Mr. Officer doesn't notice the lack of cats on YOUR ride!!!! |
Belle, u don't need cats on a ride that is older then '74. Anything older then that doesn't have to be smogged anymore.
About the neon lights. My car, when it's all done, will have lights on it too, but thats because it's going to be a show car. I'll drive it arond to show's and stuff like that. As soon as it's done, I'll be going to the next Hot August nights and any other crusies. Neon lights can ge good if they are used corectly. |

Neon lights can be good if they are used correctly Really? Neon lights will enhance a Mustang? I know that 'beauty is the eye of the beholder' but I fail to see how neon lighting on any automobile will make it more attractive. It's a fad and when everybody does it it starts to seem normal and acceptable but that doesn't mean that it actually looks good. It looks 'rice' maybe or pimped out but that isn't the same as 'good'. I await pictures of any Mustang - including yours - whose appearance was actually improved by adding neon lights to it. Even a show car should still look like a car, not a Las Vegas casino sign. |
Clownmobile!

I used to work with this guy who had a black 95 GT, we would talk
cars and stuff, modify em here and there. I had a Laser Red 97 at the time so the cars started off looking pretty similar and tasteful. But as time passed my car remained tasteful while he kept adding all these ridiculous little knick knacks! First it was mud flaps, then a license plate frame, headlight and taillight covers then came a pin stripe and then finnaly some purple fog lights from pep boys sticking out of the front bumper:eek: after that he might as well have thrown a few pissin calvin stickers on it. some people can't grasp the concept of simple clean appearance mods, they overdo it and create a clownmobile. And all that money could have gone into an actual worthwhile performance modification. |

JOKING! DUde, you tried. Your friend will now just have to learn the hard way. Still be a friend and try to guide him from a distance, that's all I can tell you. |
I like a simple, understated look. No or little crome, no lisense plate cover, no tail light covers. Just basic black(or any cool color that I like:D), head light covers, lowered a little and a set of 5-stars.
I think a black SN-95 stang could look good with a dark blue underlighting. |
Dude, your not a failure. He's a dumbsh!t. Not making fun of your friends or anything but how bright can he be. I mean for goodness sakes he drives a Camaro. J/k f-body guys.
It aint no big deal. At least he is wasting money on a Camaro and not a stang. Oh sorry again f-body guys. I just cant stop. Brad |
Man, I saw this average chevy pick-up truck the other day with blue neon lights underneath it, on both sides, and really obvious and ugly.
It had a HUGE sticker in the back window of the cab the said "Cool toys" or something, with a HUGE bowtie symbol in the middle. Now what was that all about?! It was nothing but a regular un modded truck with neon lights and stickers. It takes no sense of taste or mechanical ability to build such an ugly vehicle, and anybody with any sense of style will hate it. Neon lights DO NOT belong on cars. Mr. 5.0 hit it on the head. |
neons can be cool if used on the right vehicle.........i'll explain.............i used to know a guy in tucson that had a 69 cadallac hearse........the thing was all origanal ,bone stock with the origanal faded black paint,......he put green neons under it,in the wheel wells, and in the back where the body goes........... that thing was totally creepy when the neons where on........we called it the ghost hearse..........great for turning heads cruising........looked like this old glowing hearse coming for you from the depths of the supernatural......
other then a hearse i don't really go for that look |
old guy with 87 gt My friend's brother has a car like that. It's a 1963 Caddy Hearse. It's jet black(and looks about a mile deep), dark blue metalic ghost flames, chrome weld 16" rims, all the chrome down the side was pulled off, and the front grill and bumper and the back bumper are SUPER shiny chrome, and all the window's are tinted 2%.. It's lowered a little bit, and has dark blue neons. It's looks AWSOME. What's also cool is that his from tag is a skull. Above the skull he has a small black light, so when he turns it on at night it looks like the skull is glowing,
P.S. don't ask me where he got it, I don't wanna know, but in the back he has a coffin:eek: with 4 12's in it. When you raise the lid of the coffin he has black lights, and green neon all inside, it looks really cool. |
Mustangman65_79- How can you use neon lights correctly or incorrectly? I wonder.....
It's not like there are certain models of cars or even certain colors of cars that look good with neon lights. It just isn't gonna happen. Neon lights are ricey. I bet that for 90% of us, the last car we saw with neon lights was rice. Some people will say they look good, some people will say they look like crap (me!), it's a matter of opinion. Now the thing with the "Ghost Hearse"....I bet that look sweet....but he's not doing it to look "pimpin"...he's doing it to make the car appear to have a "haunted" effect....so there's your exception. |
Where do you come up with anything 74 an older doesn't get emission tested? It is different in every state. I may be wrong but I believe 1972 was the first year for cats. and although not enforced illegal to remove them.
|
You are wrong. Cats didnt come into the scene until 75'.

neons that i have seen that are cool are when they are around subwoofers. I have seen some green ones around a pair of subs in my friends car that light up with the hits of the sub. That looks pretty sweet. That hearse sounds awesome, especially to scare people with lol. Your freind will learn from his mistakes.

Re: Definitions please
Mr 5 0, lol!!!!!!! I couldn't agree more :D . I'm not a big fan of neon lights or those "city lights" that are nothing more than small neon lights that you put in the headlights that don't improve vision and are just a distraction. A guy at my work bought some of those for his new focus (we call it the "fo-tegra" because it has integra style front lights and stickers) and they were both such low quality that they didn't work, all they did was blow fuses because they were internally shorted. how's that for ricer quality. He wired it horrible too, at least he wasn't dumb enough to not use circuit protection (unlike some of my ricer "acquaintences" who have had their cars catch on fire :D)......oh well, i'm done rambling. This is just my opinion,
