Buy 82 GT w/ 351W??
Hey guys... I am in "negotiation" with a guy about an 82 GT. I'll list what he has told me so far and you let me know what you think.
1969 351W (.030) Heads are early 70's Carter AFB 625cfm carb Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Intake Edelbrock Aluminum Valve covers 1978 C-4 B&M pro stick shifter Competitions Cams Cam Master Blaster Coil BBK Shorties/2 chamber flows TRW Double Roller Timing Chain 4 Core Radiator Harwood Fiberglass Cowl Induction hood PowerMaster 100AMP alternator Mallory Electronic Distributor Polygraphite sway bar busings and endlinks. EDIT: t-tops that leak and stock converter. Unfortunately it still has teh crappy 7.5" rear with 3.08's. He says it runs great and the paint is in good shape but it *could* use a paint job. He has owned the car for 12yrs and it has been garaged most of that time. A good set of heads and some gears and it will be a "nasty" car. What do you guys think? He is asking $2k and is working on some pictures. Thanks... Bob |
I'd buy it. He's got most of the expensive stuff covered already. Buy it for two, put two into it (heads, paint, gears) and you'll have one hell of a ride.

if you dont want it tell him to call me.
i would snatch that up in a heart beat. really, it is easy to break a rear-end. so just pick one up to put on and keep it in the garage until you need it. get a used one. make the swap to 4:10s and then work on getting a new engine built...hehehe... that is what i would do, a new motor, big cam, 4:10s, E.T. streets, a 150 shot.. and some suspension work= 1 fun street car. all for under 10,000 bucks.

Only 20 views... does this mean the 82 GT is not insanely popular? :)
I think I read somewhere that the 82 was a light car but I can't find any information anywhere. Anybody care to comment on that... Unit? Bob |
godslayer a guy down the road from me has an 83 or 84 gt it is prime, after i bought my 00gt he had it for sale, figure's i would kill for that car, red with a black hood, 351 police intercepter, auto i talked to his son about it he said his dad might sell it, but it wouldnt be cheap, too bad though i had already bought my gt. so you better get it while you can, cya;)

well...
doesn't look like it's going to happen guys.
Apparently in Pennsylvania you have to have a notary present when you transfer the title. Unfortunately I start clinical for school next week and won't be out until 3PM everyday. It's a 4 hour trip to the car so a notary won't be available when I get there. Thanks for the opinions anyway. Bob |
