Who has a system in their car????

Who here has a sterio system in their car? I know Unit has a mild one and MidNitBlu 5.0 has one too.

I've got....
JVC DigiFine CD player
6 1/2" Pioneer 2-ways
6x8 Pioneer 2-ways
Infinity Kappa 3 1/2's
A single Kicker Comp VR 12" in a 1.30ft sealed box
600 watt Kenwood 2 channel

for the future, I'm going to add either another VR or 2 Alpine Type R 10's. I'm also going to add a ported box. And a JBL BP600.1 amp is also in the works. I also want to install a componet set and amp them and the 6x8's

So what do you guy have?

joe4speed 05-31-2002 12:54 AM

cyberstang5.0 05-31-2002 07:19 AM

I'm jamming with the following...

Sony Xplode MP3 head unit (50x4)
2 8" MTX subs in an inclosed box
1 75x2 Sony Xplode amp for the subs

pioner 6" in door.
pioner 3" in dash.
MB Quart tweeter custom mount in door.

I'm not all into how loud it can go.. I like it to be crystal clear and that it is. :D I have had ppl hear my system and think I have 12's in the back ;)

HiFlow5 0 05-31-2002 07:47 AM

I haven't been really concerned with my stereo lately, cause of the work I've been doing to the motor and such. But heres what I have.

-3.5'' Clarion 2 ways

My first "baby" system in my V6 consisted of a Kenwood Excelon head unit and in-dash digital equalizer with the Excelon amp and 3 MTX 10s. That was cool in HS when I worked at Circuit City, but I wanted better performance the second time around so I decided to shell out some more dough for better quality products.

I've had the stock HU in the GT since 1999, and I just started with a 2002 Eclipse 5442 HU with 5V preouts and the Eclipse DSP, but I can't seem to decide between the PPI, Orion, or Eclipse amps.
I've already chosen the Eclipse 12 inch titanium subs, Boston Acoustic coaxials, and MB Quart components, but I want to make sure I choose the best amps for the money. Anyone have experience (good or bad) with these amps?

If you gonna go, go all out(if you pocket are deep enough). Go with some Brax amps.

MidNiteBlu 5.0 06-01-2002 12:10 AM

My friend has a PPI amp and it is very good. They make awesome power and are very good quality. I have heard Orion amps are good too. That eclipse sub is gonna pound! Guy in my auto shop class has one powered by a 800 watt Rockford Fosgate amp and it is soo loud :D

Dark_5.0 06-01-2002 08:06 AM

I was surprised to know that the best quality amps you can buy are Jacobs electronics.

I have hade great luck with fosgate amps.

I've had two steroes in my Stang.

Rockford Fosgate head unit
2 Rockford Fosgate amps (I don't remember which ones)
1 Clarion amp (Same as above)
Tsunami capacitor
Rockford Fosgate 4 way distribution block
Rockford Fosgate competition RCA cables
3" Rockford Fosgate front speakers
6"X9 " Rockford Fosgate rear speakers
10" Kicker sub.

My amps, power cap, and distribution block were stolen Feb, 2001. That was an incredable system too.:( Since then I've replaced the stolen stuff with 1 Phoenix Gold amp, a Sherwood 4 channel amp, and a Rockford Fosgate power cap. It just doesn't sound the same.

LxMustangRacer 06-02-2002 11:03 AM

I have:

Pioneer DEH-P6000 deck
Directed 600d amp (600 watts)
3 JL 10" W3 subs
and sitting in my room is 2 JL 12" w0 subs

I'm suprised nobody else so far has any JL subs. I've got a few of my friends to switch from other brands(pioneer, fosgate, mtx) to JL after listening to my system. At least see what they have to offer ---> www.jlaudio.com

5.0L_Of_Fury 06-02-2002 11:26 AM

929PhoenixSquid 06-03-2002 12:51 AM

Okay, don't you guys laugh at me, 'cause all this **** is in my ******* Beretta...(the Notch is bone stock for now):

Source Unit is an Alpine w/Alipne Eq
MB Quart component 5-1/4 up front
Infinity Kappa 6X9 in rear
Orion HCCA 250/275/225
2 -1 farad Lightening audio caps
0/1 gauge wire
Eclipse Titanium 10" dual voice 4-ohm subs

The Alpine is history once I built the notch's system. I have converted to Eclipse

mustangman65_79 06-03-2002 04:12 AM

Before the motor died in my '79, I was running a Pioneer deck, 1000 watt amp(don't know the brand) 6½" Pioneer speakers, and two 12" Pioneer subs in a sealed box, remember, this is a hatchback. Trust my, is ratled a few windows. I was the loudest one on base, till I sold the system to buy my '89 Bronco. Soon after, everyone else started buying new systems.
