Your goin to laught about this one

Well I know this ricer that has a early Honda model car its those square shaped ones well he fixed it up a little bit and he sais he has 175HP and sais he can keep up next to a stock 5.0

Also that he's club has a honda crx thats all fixed up and runs 11's on the 1/4mile . and claims that the crx can beat a 93 Supercharged Cobra thats around town. This can't really be true right. and this rice boy claims he always smokes v6 5speed stangs and a couple stock 5speed GT's with he's 175hp rice lawn mower:p

Those Hondas are LIGHT. 175hp doesn't sound like much, but it can do wonders in a 2100lb car.

If it's an early '90's Honda Accord it weighed about 2800 - 3000 pounds from the factory, maybe 2600 pounds, stripped, has a 2.2 four-cylinder engine and was rated @ 140 HP (max) new so 175 might be an honest HP number - with some mods.

According to our MW Analyzer, with 175 HP and at, say, 2600 pounds the Honda might see a low-to-mid 14-second et.

Not bad.

Just for laughs, if the Honda really did weigh 2100 pounds (not likely) he could run a 13.3 @ 102 mph. Ohhhh. :)

I took "early Honda model car" to mean one of the tiny 70's ones...

O.K. The 70's Hondas were tiny and did weigh around 2100 pounds but they also boasted a laughable 75 HP (new-stock).

If the ricer silver v-6 refers to does have a '70's Honda and he put a late-model, mildly modified Honda 4 cylinder engine in it, he could have a 13-second car.

That said, I doubt it.
Not many 25-year-old Japanese cars are still on the road (severe body rot was a big problem on the early Japanese car models) and most younger ricers have no clue how to do an engine swap.

silver v-6:

Find out more about the Honda guy.

What year Honda is it and what's the powerplant? Original engine - or a transplant. What are the mods?

Inquiring minds want to know (so we can tell you if he really has a potentially fast ricemobile and if you should challenge him). :)

There is a guy here who run a ricer the is in the 12's. I haven't seen him run yet, but when he talks about it, he really knows what he's doing(imagine that!). I can't remember what the car is, but he did build it right with Nitruios. He always luaghs along with me about other ricers who just put NOS on their car and call it fast.

He told me about the other day when he raced a viper. He thought the look on the guys face was funny when he look in the mirrior and he was still on his @ss. He said he was with him till 120mph, then the viper just took off. He never saw it since. He's one of the few guys that I can talk cars with. He used to race a Nova, and something else, but don't remember. He got tired of the gas milage, so he got into the imports. Saves a lot of money in gas he said.

Most CRX's are turds but they only weigh 2000 lbs.....I have one that is pretty heavily modded and it will walk all over a V6 stang.

Even though it pulls good up top the 5.0's smoke me so bad off the line that I cant catch up before the end of the 1/4.

I have a V-tech head, intake and computer that I am putting on the 1.5 liter block. The car already has full exhaust and a header and shoud have an honest 150-160 HP on a 2000 lb car.

It should break into the 14's.....but still wont be a stang killer.

I have heard about an 11 second CRX running around San Diego/North County Area. My friend said he saw it at Carlsbad a few weeks ago beating Vettes and other cars  I am sure it has a full built motor and i believe it was twin turbocharged. There are some fast ones out there but the rice-fast ratio is very small lol.

Later,
Nick
