Email Virus
Hey, I wanted to warn everyone, I got an email today, from hoboin98, or that was the email adress listed. It said a nice game, in the subject header, and in it was a link to a website for upgrade kits, and a .exe file. I scanned it out of curiousity, and sure enough it had a virus in it. Be careful if you get any strange emails!

Thanks for the heads up.

I make it a habit to never EVER download anything that I'm not expecting... Whether it's coming from a friend or The Pope himself. I've had a couple nasty viruses, and it's never pretty. I get the wklez virus frequently, though, but Norton picks it up fast. Keep those virus defs. updated!!!!!!!

Thats what this virus was. I wasnt too worried, because I keep my antivirus updated.

Actually, I'll tell you a cute story. Apple often gives their customers free software, and recently they added to the list a comprehensive back-up software and an anti-virus software. I downloaded both, and decided to run the anti-virus software. This was the first time any such program has been run on my Mac since I installed OS X last October, and there were no viruses at all! I really expected there to be something floating around somewhere, but there wasn't.
:) Take care, ~Chris |
