This is the kind of stuff that makes me sad for the world...

Working at the shop today. Young Asian kid comes in the door (16-17) with his mom in tow. The first thing that enters my mind is:
He wants a cold air kit for a V6 Mustang....

Two seconds later...
Him: Hi, I messed up the air filter on my cold air kit, do you have another one?

Me: What year and model vehicle?

Him: 2001 Mustang V6

Me: How did you mess up the old one?

Him: (defensive) I just need a replacement.

(Now I'm thinking "How in the hell do you botch up a cold air kit install?")

So I go get the MAC replacement filter.

I'm in the process of ringing him up when he asks:

"Hey, when you put the filter on, does the tube slide ALL the way into the filter?"

I looked at him, trying to stifle a grin: "Well if you did that, how would the air get into the tube and to your MAF?"

He gets this flash of enlightenment on his face and goes "Oh Yea!!"

Mom pays for the filter and off they go....

Some people just don't need to be messing with their cars....

I don't know if I would smack him or what I'd do. But stupid people like that should stick to there Honda's. But atleast he is trying to learn on a American car. And do it himself. Maybe he should get a clue of what's going on first though. :rolleyes:
