Can I beat a 89 Slomaro Iroc?

I am noticing more and more of these older Slomaro's on the road, and was wondering what they are capable of. A friend of mine has a Rally Sport and says he could beat me   I told him to put up, or shut up, and he just made excuses about why he can't race me, lol :D I will finally be able to drive my car this month, after working on it for over a year, so I'll be able to test them myself, but I just want to know what they're capable of before I race one. Thanks, Keith

If they are stock you shouldn't have much problem with them if you can launch your car well. I used to beat stock IROC's with the 350 a lot in my '87 LX that was stock except for exhaust. The 305's are just plain slow.

Easy money......Unless they are modded they are not fast.

I have many an IROC kill under my belt:D

With your mods there are bigger fish to fry than a pre LT1 350. Not a problem, especially if they are the same cars I see dragging around here.

Same cars Deuce..

My work just moved to another office (Irvine Spectrum), and I see so many of these older Slomaro's, it's not even funny. I can't wait until I get my mustang on the road again, just to show these guys what a real car could do. I know there are bigger fish to fry, but I kinda like to be the "bully" :D :D

On a side note, there is this black 88 or 89 convertible saleen, black on black, that someone owns here. It's sooooo nice. I drool over it every morning :D Keith

Most IROC's are 305's......the only one you might(if you are stock) have to worry about is a 5.7 TPI with a 5-speed.....but those are few and far between.
