Progress on Project FOX.

Hey guys, just got some temporary internet service and thought I'd throw you an update on my car :D.

The roll cage is finished and painted (FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :()
It's like, to get something done, I had to do something else first, and to get that done, I had to do some other thing b4 that. I had to patch up and repaint my floor b4 I could be done so I am posting pics of the car with cage and seats. In a month or two , I'm gonna write up a brief cage install procedure on my website with a lot of Do's and Do Not's (Ummm Hmmm).
Also, there is a pic I drew of my car on Microsoft Paint. It's not quite done yet, but almost. Later guys, thanks for listening. :)

Everything you see with new paint on it is brushed/sanded, then primered, then painted.

Looks comfy. ;)

Actually, it looks like it's coming along pretty good. Can't wait to see finished pics, and be able to say "I remember when that thing was just 3 bolts and a paper clip!".

:)

Take care,

Thanks guys. :D

Hey PKRWUD,
I tried that advice you gave me on wiping down the roll cage with Old English. I bought a bottle of that stuff and wet the rag down and wiped the whole cage with generous amounts of OE (of course I checked an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it wouldn't harm the paint). Less than an hour after i did it, about half the strong spray paint smell was gone. About a day later, I could notice NO spray paint smell at all. To tell the truth though, the lemon smell from the OE didn't hang around either, but that's okay. The OE did something to the finish of the paint, it made it shinier and more scratch resistant (maybe this is all in my head). But for sure it totally deleted the raw smell in the car. THANKS A BUNCH. Your simple advice made a big difference, now my interior doesn't stink.

Excellent!!!

I may have have been a bit too generous when I used it, but my pipe insulation kept the smell in the '66 for quite a while. Either way, mission accomplished!

Cool.

Take care,
~Chris
