I was wondering how many real valve covers like this u ppl have seen. I was told that they are really rare.

If it was a factory item, yes rare. As a reproduction item, more obscure than anything else.

mustangman65_79 09-05-2002 11:55 PM

that one in the pic was a factory item. The guy told me that very few 351C in Cougars had those.

Crazy Horse GT 09-06-2002 01:01 AM

they are coming out with more cougar cat's, my first great fomoco, was a 69 cougar, you could probably find them there, small block, or big block, i wish i had kept the ol 69 cat, it was fast, 351w, wish i could find a 69 eliminator, or rx-7 cool car's. ;) :D :D

The Deuce 09-06-2002 10:51 AM

Thats XR-7 you disleksic old man. :D

I know a guy who has a totally original xr-7, beautiful car.

Mustangman, that would make it a rare piece. Pretty much anything with an original Cleveland block will be rare now. Especially 70 and earlier.

TXinPA 09-08-2002 07:51 PM

I dated a guy from Pittsburg that had an original set of those, on the original car that came with them. He said he'd give me the car if I married him. Too bad he was a whiney annoying little priss.

The Deuce 09-09-2002 12:27 AM

Screw the eliminator, you have any pics of that Red '64 Fairlane behind it? There's no way I could afford a cat like that, but the Fairlane.......
