Is my 5.0 little? People ask me the stupidest crap...
Some examples of what people have actually asked me, no joke:
"Is your 5.0 a 4 or 6 cylinder?" "How do you expect to beat my comaro? I have a v8 your 5.0 is a v6." Me: A 5.0 is a v8 engine, duh Her: I don't believe you, pop the hood so I can see for myself "Do 5.0's come with v8's?" I swear to god kids at my school have asked me those questions, totally serious too. But the one that gets me most mad is when they ask; "Is that your little ford?" I'm sorry, i know a 302 is a small block but when I think little, I think v6 or smaller not a v8. |
Damn dude you dont go to a school for the mentaly challenged do you?
No offense:o |

I get some of the same crap.. or used to anyways....
My gf was talking to her "guru" friend about my stang (thinks he's god of the cars), anyways... he asked if mine was a 5.0 or 4.6, she of course didn't know and said well, it's a 1998 GT.. He immediatley replies with "Oh, then it's a 5.0, the 4.6 didn't come out until 99" DOH!!!!!! OMG!!!!! To make it worse, he's not the first person I've heard say that either.. I've had other people ask me before about that.. They say.. hey! why didn't you get the 5.0 in the mustang, instead of the 4.6?..... Wow,,, If I had only thought of that one at the dealer (smacks forehead in shame!), I guess I over looked the special 1998 5.0 GT Mustangs they made that year. /// the other day, my girl and I were in the T/A topless, and these kids come rolling up next to me, of course I know what they're wanting.... The driver asks "Hey man, is that a Firebird or T/A" obvious noob, if you can't tell, then your SOL.. I reply that it's a T/A.. Not expecting the next quesion.. "Oh, cool.. Is it a V6 or V8"... Oh the things I wanted to reply with..... (No man, it's a V7), And the kicker off all... I replied "It's a Vette LS1" (still has no clue).... I finally had to spell out " V - 8 !"... Then he wants to race me... no prob... quick punch off of 1st into 2nd and he's vapor... Seems like a waste though, I wasted gas on HS kids in a Tahoe... but ohwell... she's still new, and still fun to drive... |

Sounds like a few of the folks at your school rode the SHORT bus instead of driving,as for the Camaro guy, just tell him it's a 6 banger and the dust his butt........LOL
|
lol....the girl was just a friend of a friend, she had a boyfriend plus she wasn't that good lookin'. As for the comaro guy i haven't had a chance to race him yet. I have football practice after school so i don't leave when he does. We have some ricers that wanna piece of the ole 5.0 but they'll have to wait till f-ball is over hehehe. It'll have more mods then anyways so I'd like to wait. For those of you who live in AZ i go to Goldwater Highschool so you have an idea of what i'm dealing with over here :\
oh yeah and that girl i talked to, she actually counted the headers on each side. LOL well at least she knows where to look heh. |

I don't know how some people could be so stupid! J/K...I had to go for it :) Thanks, DoranW |
I've been asked TWICE if my car has a 350 in 'er. ( I do live in Kentucky)
|
Wait... You mean Ford didn't put 350's in a Mustang.... Hmm... I didn't know that.... I knew Chevy used 351's in their Camaros.... :D ---j/k

Well guys, FWIW, my Ford 5 liter engine is a 6 cylinder (4.00" x 3.98", you do the math).
:) Take care, ~Chris |
Chris I dont think a 300 inline 6 would fit very good in a fox. :D Although they did have 250 inline 6's back in the early 80's. :) So I assume you have 5.0 badges on the sides of your truck? :D

Chris,
Using the proper formula this time ( :D ), I get the following: 4 (bore) (which is 2" radius squared) x 3.98 (stroke) x Pi x 6 (cylinders) = 300.0849303 cu. in. 300.0849303 cu. in. = 4.92 Litres, not quite 5.0 litres, but I'll let it slide this time. :D What's interesting is that a true 302 = 4.95 litres, while the actual calculation comes to 301.5928947 = 4.94 litres. I guess Ford just decided to round up and make it a nice 5.0. /me adjusting my thick black 1960's glasses with tape in the center, pulling up my pants to below my chest and then fiddling with the clip-on tie/ E |
Wow, that was pretty impressive for a buckeye. http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies...oom/bounce.gif

and half of you cant spell cAmAro....lol... but some of those questions are really funny...lol...but i remember how dumb some of my questions were when i was a little younger and knew NOTHING about cars...you shouldn't roll your eyes at em completely, cuz if everyone who i asked did, i would still no nothing instead of a little something :)...my theory is, explain dumb questions only once to people...if more than one person asks such a stupid question, then roll your eyes at em :) damn this board comes up with some great stuff to laugh about.. :D |
The one I get when I'm in my Dodge all the time that irks me: "What are you running in that thing?" "A 383" "You put a Chevy engine in a Dodge?" "Yes that's exactly what I did! Wanna race?"
Stupid rednecks. |
