If You Could Build A Mustang.....
If you were to build a mustang any way you wanted, what would you build? what would it be for, and what would you put in it(motor, suspension, wheels, stereo.....)
|
A Mustang that will beat John Force! :D
|
well, a mustang wouldn't be my top choice.......
but lets say that someone here decided to finance my efforts: -i'd pick a 69 or 70 boss 302 (i think those are the ones that Trans Am cars were based off of) -i'd ditch all the graphics and go with a white paint with overlays of a blue pearl -engine built to rev high -sitting low on shiny 18's with extensive custom suspension -simple, practical interior -nice stereo setup setup up for quality, not quantity (maybe a single 12" sub) |
I would build a Gt500 clone (the one in gone in 60sec) with a 800ci aluminum motor, with fast efi, and the strongest manual trans that i can find with syncros. It would have full interior, a nice stero, and nice seats. It would be lowered with a set of 18's, and huge brakes.

302 stroked to 347, afr 205 heads, custom cam, tfs-r intake, twin t4 turbos, huge fmic, tremec, full drag suspension/frame work, standalone. other stuff, obviously.

1967 Mustang Stallion That is exactly what I would take... orignal as possible. They made 16 of them I believe 8 with the 289 completly done up and 8 with the 390 and I think the 390 was bored to a Mercury 410 ci engine. They were done by a dealership in Toronto. My uncle was going to buy one way way back when. My dad was telling me how he remembered going to look at the car with his brother. It has 8 Chrome Stacks when you poped the hood. There are acouple sites that people sent me about this car, I'll have to go look for them again. None the less, I think it's the sexiest Mustang ever made. §am. |
Geez  Mine would prolly be a 351 stoked and bored to a 393 then throw some GT40 heads on, good headers on a 1964 1/2 coupe body with a wicked double black paint. Throw on two holley four barrels and a 150 shot of nitrous and a Paxton supercharger. Then I'd get some good drag pack suspension and make it a good quarter contender ;)

1967 fastback
*Boss 302 motor *ported heads *T-56 *EFI spider intake *twin turbo *75 hp shot *17" rims up front, 18's out back *lowered *worked suspention *ultra nice SQ system with Brax, Digital Designs, and Focal equipment Ahhhh.....just something cool about a vintage stang with a twin turbo EFI small block that will rev to 8,000 rpm. The above is just one of my MANY dream cars...hehe |
Well i would like to have a car like Tireburner said but i think ill build my notch dream car :D
87-93 Notch. bright white with 03 Cobra rims powdercoated black with a polished lip Motor - 302 stroked to 331. AFR 185 heads, trick Flow R intake, custom solid roller cam :D And all the boltons/exhuast. ATI Procharger or twin turbos. Suspension - Full maximum motorsports road racing - H+R springs, torque arm, panhard rod, k member etc Stereo - pioneer Premier 940 deck, Focal or Crystal components all over the place, Brax amps, Image Dynamics subs. Nice SQ system :) Now where does one get all this money? oh yeah ive got 67-68 fastback dream cars, 69-70 trans am dream cars, 65-66 coupe dream cars....etc etc etc. :D Later, Nick |
1967 Shelby, white with blue stripes, twin turbo charged 351 bored to 408 cubic inches, blue thunder heads, (or yates), make about 1400 or 1500 hp. Put a six speed on it. Lowered, 18inch American racing torque thrust d wheels. Now THATS a car.
Daniel. |
My dream car would go as follows:
355 stroker (302 block) EFI all the hi-flow stuff: Edelbrock victor extrude honed, all the other intake stuff, AFR 200 heads matched to the intake and exhaust, High Flow turbo cam Twin Turbo system Factory type drag suspension and full chassis stiffening including welding subframes/cage together into the car....but making it look 100% stock from a glance. There would be alot of other stuff like fuel system, cooling system, etc. etc. etc. that i would have to install but this is the general engine stuff. I would have a 6 speed tranny (probably wouldn't live with the engine, but oh well) and a 9" Rear with mini tubs... ....exterior completely stock save for steel wheels enlarged to 15" and 15x10" in back with stock dog dish hubcaps. .....all in a '79-'83 Ford Fairmont 4 door or wagon :D |
A bright yellow '69 Fastback, black front and rear spoilers, rear window louvers. Real dark limo black window tint.
-408W from Indy Mustang Performance (about 575 hp) -4-spd tranny -9" rear (not Currie) with 4.11s -Minitubbed -Centerline AutoDrags (15X3.5 and 15X10s) -MT ET Drags -6 pt cage -Recaro Seats, removed rear seat (but finished so it looks nice) -Stereo delete -Manual Steering -Suspension set up for the drag strip By the time I'm dead, hopefully this will be my REAL car, not my DREAM car.... |
This ones easy.
Grabber Yellow 1969 Boss 302, magnum 500's, close ratio trans. Period. Now if I was going to go crazy and build something... '65 notch 351c 4v (closed chamber heads) Maybe a little stroke and poke t-10 (maybe t-56) 9" locker 4:11's 16" Torque thrust D's Hurst shifter Thrush exhaust custom girnd clay smith cam disc brake upgrade koni reds all around. The 65 I'll build but probably need to use a Windsor block, as its way easier to get under the stock hood. |
A red 1969 Boss 429 Mustang converted to a SOHC 427 with 2 Holley dominators sitting sideways on a manifold hand made by Edlebrock .... oh wait ... already had that one :D
ok ok it was my brothers but that kinda like makes it mine ;) It remains the lowest milage Boss 429 Mustang known to exist (123 original miles) |
A Pro Stock Style 02 GT with a 420ci windsor and three stages of nitrous, Yates heads, tunnel ram with twin 1350 dominators, two parachutes, wheelie bars, <insert Tim Allen Grunt> ok i'm done. :)
|
man, yall got some extravagant dreams,!! mine is more fesible i guess..
what can i say? i'm a sucker for a brunette.. clean 93 lx notch, black, tints, welds, blown 7.5lw/ n20. 12 pt roll bar, t-56.. licence plate.. D R A G U L A.. so petite, an innocent looking but so damn sinister when you mash that far right pedal to the floor...damn..now thats spooky.. |
i cant pick just one to build...and i have no clue what id put in em right now...but here goes a vauge order...gt500 clone, 69 gt vert, 90 notch lx 5.0, 93 cobra, tweaked out 99+ GT....there are just too many incredibly beautiful mustang options out there....*drools*....now you ve got me going....lol
|
hehe....I'm back for seconds. This time I building one of my late model dream cars.
87-93 notch back *PPG assaian blue *Kenny Brown "black chrome" rims *351W stroked to a 377 *AFR 185 heads (ported) *Forged steel crank *Intercooled ProCharger *T-56 *lowered *full Maxiumum Motorsports suspention *late model leather seats *black interior *Borla exhaust with 3.5" SS tips *2% "limo" tint with a layer of 65% refective tint over it (just enough to tell) *various bullet aluminum interior peices *Alpine deck, Brax amps, Raindow 6.5" componets (the rest of the car is nice, might as well drop $6,500 for a pair of speakers:) ), IDQMax subs. |
