THE Worst Paycheck EVER!!
I got laid off last Tuesday (landscaping and Pittsburgh winters don't mix) and so my boss just mailed my last paycheck to me. It came in the mail today and I just about pee'd myself...I only had 4 hours on the paycheck PLUS they took out the usual money for my health plan. So what was left??
$1.54!!! Yep, that's all that was left after all the deductions, HAHA. Why did my moronic boss even bother to mail it? I mean that $1.54 will cover the cost of gas to go to the bank and back :D I didn't even get a christmas bonus this year (I got a nice FAT one last year)...WTF!! So can anyone beat my $1.54 paycheck?? :p |
im afraid so. when the carmike cinema closed here in town, i got mailed a 28 cent paycheck.
big companies are notorious for doing stupid **** like that cause its a computer that actully decided to mail it. If your boss mailed it by hand, i say yours is better. talk about an idiot in charge.... |
Sorry to hear you lost your job, BUT.....
Your boss is required to pay your wages in full, even if it was 1¢, else he'd be in deep trouble with the government for not paying you. |
I didn't lose my job...I just get laid off until spring (early march). Everyone gets laid off for the winter...and then we start back in the spring. It's nice to have a 2 month break, expecially when it's 20 degrees and all crappy outside.

Actually, we work out where Bill Cohwer lives...saw him one day getting gas when we stopped to get drinks...He was driving a E-class Benz. But that's another story! |

Hopefully your "moronic boss" does not read your post, he'd love you for it..... |

I don't think I can beat that pay cheque (Canadian Spelling) either... :D It almost cost him more to mail it with the cost of the envelope, the stamp, the cheque and his time. =) lol §am. |

That's bad but not the worst... waiters and waitresses only make 2.13 an hour, so based on the tips they make, the actually get paychecks that say "VOID" all over them from time to time!

You mean you report tips down there:eek: lol, when I worked at Applebes, this guy Sed would make like 125 in tips.......report like 50 or 60. lol |
We dont have to report tips at Pat and Oscars were i work. But then again we arent a required tipping restaurant so the average a night for me is usually about 25-30. But some people kick *** at bussing and make like 100 bucks unreported!

I never report more than 30.00 even if I make 300 that night. The only good thing is, the more you report, the more you get back at the end of the year. |
Yeah I can, but mine was in a good way WHen I worked for MCI, my 2 weeks pay was abourt $1560. I quit in early december 2000. I lost my previous 2weeks pay and was awaiting a new check, so I gave them my new address as I was moving. So not only did I get my final weeks pay at my new address. I got it at my old address, and I found my old check, and I got the new one, but they did put a stop payment on it. All in all, I got two free checks out of it. I guess we all know about MCI's great accounting by now, but I profited off it, haha, it was nice.

I am officially not hearing this conversation. By federal law, all wages and tips are required to be reported to the IRS. Just take a look at box 1 of your W-2.
