Might loose the stang... NEED HELP!

Has anyone used a child seat in your stang? I have a 02 GT that my wife wants me to trade because she doesn't think we can get a car seat in the back. If anyone has used one that fit well please let me know. I would rather not have to trade my car in to get something with larger back seat, but unless we can find something that fits, that is what is going to happen. PLEASE HELP!:(

I have never used one in the 99+ but I did in my old 95gt and they are about the same when it comes to room and it was no problem

I have seen a car seat in the back of a 99+ GT. I have also seen them in the back of the SN95's. You should be safe.

Seems the child seats should work in any back seat with seat belts.

Lots of dealers and AAA have free advice on proper installation of the baby seats. Check them out. Also check with your local police dept, as they also could advise you.

Why does't your wife trade in her car for a bigger backseat? Come on, she should understand is not just a car. IT'S A MUSTANG!!!!!! :D

When the baby came, we just bought another car... the stang stays with daddy! ;)

I have used one plenty of times in the 94 with no problems. Just might get a little crowded as the child gets older... but that's a few years down the road :)

Buddy, I hear ya. I'm selling my 93xcopcar and my 460 ranchero, But I bought a new car, a 59 ford 4 door, I'm planning a turbo 460 with a e4od. I think I'll miss the mustang, but life carries on.

I've had my mustang before the child came. When he came in 1996, I had the car seat in the back for him. He's done just fine, but we also did buy a explorer. He still rides in the back with the car seat at 6 yrs old and does just fine. I wonder if my back seat is a smaller area than the O2's. Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice... She has a 2000 F-150 supercab, so she has plenty of room. I think she is more worried that the seat wouldn't fit in the back of mine. It is still going to take some convincing though. I told her that if it comes down to it, I would get the rear seat delete kit and bolt a car seat to that... She wasn't too fond of that idea either.:p Oh well, we will figure something out... but the stang stays!

Montaz3,

I like your idea for deleting the seat and bolting in a car seat! Isn't if funny how women usually don't like our creative solutions! :D But I think you will have plenty of room in the back of your mustang for the car seat. I would suggest mounting the seat in the middle so that he/she has plenty of leg room, and it makes it easier for you to watch the him/her from your rear view mirror.

As for her having a supercab F-150, I do too. And I have THREE car seats in the back of my truck!!

I just sat in on a class on how to install a car seat the right way. I didn't pay much attention because i don't have kids yet, but there is allot of info that people don't know. You can go to your local state police department to get all the info on saftey. It's your kid and you don't just want to stuff the seat back there and think it is all good. It could mean his or her LIFE.

Hmm, pretty simple really. Put the child seat in the passenger side and make your wife sit in the back. :)
