I think it sounded good. Nice and deep. sounds like you can eat a slowmaro and have a few ricers for dessert. :D I didn't think you reved it up high enough. Sounded good at idle though.

lx5091 03-19-2003 09:51 AM

Can I have it?!:D

Conman 03-19-2003 12:40 PM

that thing sounds pretty mean

I voted sounds just right but if it's a daily driver I hope you have some ear plugs if you have any sort of commute:D

UglyFast88 03-19-2003 03:32 PM

Oh no- I think there's something terribly wrong with your car. Maybe you should just give it to me...

I think it sounds perfect. The only way it could have sounded better would be if we heard it go by at about 7,000 RPM and then about 5 seconds later, we'd hear the Civic fartcan go by...
:D

thanks guys,,, the engine is a 10K jem for sure but the car is a complete package.. I'm the original owner and it's still only got 37,000 miles on it. I just wasn't expecting it to be quite so loud.
I've built it with the intentions of driving it a few times a week.

The car is a 1983GT. It's a 74' 351 block w/ Eagle 4340 internals. TFS"R" heads w/ JE 10.5 to1 pistons. Lunati solid roller /w crane gold rollers and TFS stud girdles. SuperVictor Intake and Bigs 950 carb.
My webpage
With only 9 passes the car has run as quick as 10.84et @ 126.40mph. With only a 3.73gear. It's being finished from being painted this week. Then we're gonna take it out and hit the squeeze. Thanks for the compliments~!!!! Here's a few pics..........

PONYONE..what is your exhaus...wait..i see it on your page...how did you get the 3 bolt flange header collector to fit the X pipe? also is it really loud inside the car...i love how dumps sound but my friend had a 347 with dumps and i rode it in five minutes and had a headache

and is that the PCV in your valve cover on the pass side? just wondering how that works cause ill need to do that with my 408 im building cause my EFI victor intake has no place for PCV...i was told i could just not run it and run a VC breather but...i dont know

My carb has a port on the back of it for the PVC. However, on a friends VictorJr. we just drilled and tapped a 3/8" hole and got a fitting from Advanced for it to connect to.

the headers are 3.5" collectors, the Xpipe is a 3.5" to 3" setup.
The xpipe uses a 3.5" coupling that slip fits over the header collector. Then I use Stainless Steel clamps to hold it. Is it loud in the car? Your joking, right? Hahahaha Lets just say that there's no need for a stereo.........The stock one is still in place.......

I worked on the car today for about 4hrs. I got the front and rear bumoer covers back on. Fitted the hood pins and replaced some of the weatherstriping pieces. Hopefully I'll have the car finished tomorrow...................I'll be sure to post more pics of it after its finished with the stripe kit and emblems installed.........cya....

what did you use to drill the hole in the lower intake?? my upper intake has a place for the PCV to connect TO..just have no place to actually put the PCV itself...

Sorry, I misunderstood. Use a 1"1/4" hole saw into the valve cover itself. Use a rubber valve cover gromet and plug in the PCV valve.

PONYONE thanks....i see ford racing has valve covers with holes in them already? and summit has garmetts for PCV....dont know what size the hole in the VC is though?

anyway PONYONE are you running baffles in your valve covers? i was under the impression if you run the PCV in the cover you should have a oil baffle so you dont suck so much oil??

There's only a couple of different sizes gromets. No I have no baffles in covers, but I also run a oil restrictor kit for the solid roller cam, so there's not much oil up there anyways.
