what do you guys think?

I have a chance to buy another mustang, Its a 1989 LX 5.0 with 100,000Miles on it. The mechanical is very good, but the body is pretty rough(back left some surface rust, alot of dings, dents and the hatch needs replacement). It is going to be a daily driver to fix up. The lowest he will go is $1500.00_Canadian . Do you think I should buy it?

Thanks for any advice

Is it stock?

lovinspeed01 05-26-2003 07:47 AM

Yes its stock, except one of the previous owners cut out the mufflers and put glasspacks:confused:

I dont think that's a bad price. Considering I sold an 84 4-banger piece of **** for $1500 when I bought my 88. lol.

How much is that U.S.? I haven't seen the car but it sounds good to me. You might even be able to part it out, for the purchase price, if bad turned to worse.

Is it a hatch or a coupe? (I'm just curious)

bigdaddy3312 05-28-2003 09:51 AM

isnt that like 3000 us of so???? how bad is the work needed?is it worth it,could you buy another one for that amount and the cost of repairs,in better condition?tough one.............there are deals out there,be patient.rust is tough..i would rather buy a car with paint problems than rust.....the only real way to fix rust is to cut it out completely.........tough call my friend.......hey sis!
p.s how can i ad a pic of my cay here?

Sicy Stang 05-28-2003 10:19 AM

I think U.S. $$ is cheaper than Canadian.. not $3000 but more like $1000..

You can add a pic by clicking the browse button underneath the reply box and attach the pic from your hard drive.

I'm guessing its more like $800 US, doesn't matter though... they already bought it:)

Sicy Stang 05-28-2003 10:27 AM

How do you know they bought it

They are asking about advancing the timing in Windsor Power. Funny thing... at one time windsor power was the only forum I ever checked... I got tired of the same old questions and decided I would just bs awhile...

bigdaddy3312 05-28-2003 11:10 AM

oops!!!! got the exchange bacwards!!!! my bad!800 is cheap!!!!!sorry guys....my pic in in a zip file from a dig camera......can i convert it ?

lovinspeed01 05-28-2003 06:46 PM

Thanks for the replies

I actually haven't bought the mustang yet(I'm going to give it a couple days to see if the price will go down). The mustang that I am going to advance the timing on is my weekend toy!! The mustang I am looking at buying will be fixed up for a daily driver. Because my current daily driver is getting pretty pricey on gas(1992 Ford Ranger Ex. Cab XLT 4.0). The exchange rate right now I believe is at $0.73. So that means every Canadian dollar is equal to roughly 73 cents American.

P.S. Its a Hatchback with a black exterior and porno red interior

If I do buy mustang number two, its not going to receive any mods, If I can control myself

Take it easy everyone

Zip file from a digital? That's odd. If it is a zip file you can unzip it with a free program like winzip. As long as they are .jpg or .bmp file extensions after you unzip it you can attach them here.
