Broke my shoulder at work AGAIN

For the 3rd time in 12 years I broke my shoulder at work. I also tore a ligament and severed the capsule. My work wants me to come back tomorrow and start back trainning people. I dont think so I am in slight pain. I did this last week and forgot to mention it to ya guys. I have other things on my mind I guess.

Breaking anything isn't fun at all. Don't go back to work until your doc releases you. Even if he does don't return until you feel right. By all means get yourself well first!

Did it the same way everytime. I was picking up a concrete discharge hose that weighs around 250lbs and it just snapped.

no that tape is green and it is on the front of me not my back. The pic does look like my back. Even though the back is just as bad looking. They cut me all the way around.

ac97gt 06-27-2003 09:59 PM

ah, well thats quite a difference... i was thinking like suing or something, i thought thats what people do when you get hurt at work due to faulty machinery... pain and suffering or whatever. who knows.

The state of GA is a state in which you can not sue for pain and suffering. But the good thing You automaticaly get a small settlement from the state if you a parcially disabled. Last time I got 20 grand which I put all into my car:D

$20k sounds nice and all, but, thats one hell of a price to pay for the pain and inconvenience. From those pics, I'm sure it was quite painful.

....... im sure it hurts like hell... but you can pay me $20k for anything that will heal. thats alot of money, plus he gets the time off work, sympathy head (can i say that), i guess im not lucky enough for something like this to happen to me, i could use the money.

Sicy Stang 06-29-2003 01:33 AM

Yeoch.. looks painful :( $20k is nice. I got $12k for a permanent shoulder disability as a result of my job. Nothing broken, just degeneration of my shoulder from repetitive motion.

LX5liter 06-30-2003 11:21 AM

If you broke it three times doing the same thing, they should look for a better (safer) way to do that particular task. I'm surprised the Workmans Compensation Board (or whatever they call it there) hasn't looked into it a little further.
